About Me

Edmonton Alberta born Darryl Meyer became a fixture in the Canadian Jazz Scene at a young age. Upon graduating from Grant MacEwan College in 2005 with a concentration in Jazz Performance, Darryl Traveled to New York City and studied with jazz great Ari Hoenig. Since his graduation Darryl Has been noted for playing with such Canadian music icons as Jim Brenan, Jim Head, Chris Andrew, Jann Arden’s Mike Lent, John Taylor, Juno nominated blues guitarist John Campbelljohn, and such international artists as New York Voices’ Peter Eldridge and Greg Jasperse. In 2005 Darryl was also a featured artist on Andrew Glover’s double disc release “Smooth” and “Not So Smooth.”Besides having an extensive performance history, Meyer is also a sought after teacher and clinician. In 2005 he was a featured “artist in residence” at Canada’s second largest jazz festival, Saskatoon’s Sasktel International Jazz Festival, as well as the 2006-2007 Artist in residence at the University of Alberta. In the summer of 2007 Darryl became the youngest member in the Faculty of Music at Red Deer College.p align=center
