Reeves starting performing live Blues at the age of 7yrs with local blues band ..The Rail Chasers.. On Sept. 10, 2004 at Honey Grove's Music Hall, Reeves was asked by Tyler Bryant to join him on stage to sing a couple songs. Bryant, her senior by two years, was all smiles as Reeves ripped into Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride and Joy" and Susan Tedeschi's. The facts about Reeves are simple so far -,Born in Temple and raised in Euless,Texas, and is destined to be a major force in blues. Things will change in her life as she grows, but her love for the blues will never change. "Sometimes when my day at school was bad and I'm having a bad day or something, I come home and turn on some Etta James and just chill. I sing the blues because it makes me feel good, it will never be for the money," Reeves said. "Some people ask why do you listen to the blues ? The blues, in my opinion, is the best music going. The Blues is honest ,real ,its up's and down's of life, sadness ,love ,hate you could say its full of "emotions" ..something I feel is lacking in music today. It's hard to describe the feeling, but when I first heard the blues.. something deep inside me just went off ,like a bell ringing through my soul, every time I perform.. I get that feeling all over again. I have never been the same since .I listen to all kinds of music but I dig the blues the most." Kayla has since shared the Stage with Alan Haynes,Buddy Miles, Wes Jeans, Lance Lopez, Pine Top Perkins, Chris Duarte,Joe Bonamassa,Blue Lisa, Cheryl Arena, Aaron Burton,Rocky Athas Band,Gunthry Kennard, Tyler Dow Bryant, Carson Alexander,JoHell and the Red Roosters, Chad Lilly,Maren Morris, Jerry Rizzi to name a few. She has packed such Venues as Dallas Texas own Granada Theater, Texas International Blues Fest -Sons of Herman Hall, Dusk To Dawn Bluesfest Oklahoma, Mayfest Ft Worth Texas, The Main Street Blues Room Grapevine Texas, The Palace, Poor David's Pub, The Pigeon Hole Irving Texas,Capp Smith Park,Keys Lounge, Longhorn Saloon @ Ft Worth Stockyards, Honey Grove Music Hall, Bedford Texas Harley, Camp Shag Bark Bike And Blues, Million Dollar Ride Dallas own Westend, Dillons Lounge, The Chop House in Addison Texas, Nates Seafood Bar and Grill and many others. Kayla has been selected by the Shag Bark Blues Society to represent "Texas Blues" at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis 2007.
