This is a party like no other... For May we're going with a different visual effect. You'll see on the night.. the Videokidz will have something special.. musically, Candys has a massive mega-watted super-audio EAW system (this sound system is a killer!) the DJs will be playing some big big hits... it'll be a massive tripped out electro night - full of clubbers that know where it's at. The DJs on this line up know how to deliver teched out electro house with big fat tribal beats - to bizarre imagery specially designed for 3 dimensional screens - tripped out - deep in the subterrainian cavern that is Sydney's legendary nightclub - Candys Apartment. Cool club - unpretenscious - inclusive not exclusive... .... seriously, Candys is the cutting edge and cool and thrives on people that love music and parties. It's that simple!
RITUAL kicked off in April 2006 - it was a party at Candys Apartment on one their gig-land meets club-land music programming nights.
A punk band support package followed by dark tribal house dance party -- on the face of it it looked like music programming that went together like oil and water. In reality it was an awesome night that launched what would become a legendary cult dance party.
Garage punk outfit Children Collide kicked off the night from 8pm to 11:30 then RITUAL took the stage.
The night was nothing short of MASSIVE.
Mannequins, masked DJs, dark set designs and insane projections; mixed with a dark and tribal house sound saw the beginning of a dance party like no other.
Since then we've set ourselves the impossible task of making each Ritual better and more surprising than the last. Enormous sculptured white faces, three dimensional projections, sculptured screens, crazy tribal face paints, cutting edge lasers and specially designed screens and projections; alongside the deepest, darkest tribal house from Sydney's hottest new DJs -- have since all combined to give Ritual a cult following and made it into a dance party like no other.
