Just a Celtic Harper

I'm not perfect. Nor is my playing. But here it is

About Me

I've been playing the celtic harp for about 3 years now.
I have a few crappy recordings, and I do have this camera, and since several friends have expressed the desire to hear me play...
There it is.
Ye'll have to deal with videos and crappy recordings until I scrounge up some dough for some professional grade sound!
And I'm NOT perfect. To get these recordings that sound HALFWAY decent and with only a FEW mistakes, I had to record each song at LEAST 5 times!! King of the Fairies took me about 20 tries, and it's my favorite song, and thus; the one I play the most anyway! So you would think I should have no trouble playing it, but man.... as soon as I hit the "record" button, it's a whole different ballgame.
Now here are videos of me playing. More to come!

And here is me... after a few beers ... trying to play O'Carolan's welcome and get it right after about.... 15 tries or so. I failed. But in the end of the video, after ALL the mistakes, you can see my frustration. I cannot live with even the smallest of mistakes......

I may have been intoxicated during the filming of this video. =P

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/emperorbuz
Band Members: Buz - 36 string nylon strung celtic harp. (lever, or folk harp)
Influences: Kim Robertson (my all-time favorite harper. She dedicated a song to me once. Guess which one it was. King of the Fairies!! {because I told her that I loved her version, fool}), Patrick Ball, Turlough O'Carolan, Rachael Van Vorhees (principle harper in the LPO), Aine Ni' Dubghail (performer of the first version of King of the Fairies that I ever heard!), and all other celtic harpers.

Bellfast Harp Orchestra (imagine that! An entire orchestra of harps!!) and the Chieftans also helped me out.

And... quite literally, the REASON I learned to play the harp was for the song, King of the Fairies. I love that song. Without hearing that song, I probably would have never had the desire.
Sounds Like: sounds like crap, because I have a crappy harp and I make crappy recordings on tape, then transfer them to cd. LOL!

When I get some dough, I'll get a professional recording though.

Hey, that ryhmes!
