About Me

I came to the US (from Denmark), in 2000, with about 1200 bucks in my pocket. I traveled by Greyhound bus from New York city to Chicago, then down south, hitting Memphis, Nashville, all the way to New Orleans, and then finally I ended up in Austin, TX. There, I met bassist Roscoe Beck, who was very generous in giving me a place to stay until I decided to move to Dallas. Gigging' & Jamming' in various blues clubs & honky tonks while working at a car wash quickly gave me a lesson in the hustle of living as a musician in the US. After about 6 months I'd had enough and moved on to Chicago. I lived at the Diplomat Hotel (weekly rates, 21 & over, no f...... kidding) until I saved enough money to get my shit together and move out. I lived in Chicago for about nine months, gigging 5 times weekly with J.W. Williams & the Chi Town Hustlers. While I lived there I became good friends with Charlie Musselwhite's bass player Felton Crews, with whom I established contact through Roscoe Beck. He got me the gig with JW. I also had the honor of befriending guitar extraordinaire, Ronnie Baker Brooks (son of Lonnie Brooks); both musicians taught me a lot. After nine months, I moved to L.A. That was very difficult for me because the contact I was supposed to live with had his phone disconnected when I got there. So I was Fucked, and not having my own car didn't really help my situation. After another nine months (of pain) I moved to Portland OR, to join R&B singer Curtis Salgado; I got in contact with him through Bassist Felton Crews, from back in Chicago. I played in the Curtis Salgado Band for almost six years, touring all over the country, also Canada & Germany. While playing in his band I got to play with some legendary musicians, including, Johnny Johnson, Pinetop Perkins, Bob Margolin, Taj Mahal, Lee Oscar, Roy Rogers, Eric Benet, Steve Miller & recently Robert Cray. Now I’m in the process of getting back to what I want to do & possibly looking to find a new gig.
