About Me

In a world where sound organisms interact and mutate, the properties of frequency, time and space all modulate in realtime. This is the virtual sound environment where viridian twists electro rave with cut-up fx synthesis.

Since playing piano from age 7, viridian progressed through the early experiences of Melbourne acid house clubs to many a rave party as the Melbourne scene developed throughout the early nineties. This progressed to the first viridian gig in 1994 at the Tranzmission compilation launch (which featured the Viridian track Avarice). Throughout the rest of the century, viridian played many parties and clubs. This included playing at renowned large parties such as the Hardware series, War of the Worlds and Madass. As well, this also involved playing at smaller legendary club nights such as Electric at Redheads and Acid Reign and clubs such as Revolver and Chevron. During these years, viridian played live alongside numerous artists such as Carl Cox, Speedy J, Jeff Mills and Laurent Garnier.

Viridian released his first single in 1995 through local label Azwan Transmissions, which was titled the viridian ep and featured the track ‘Sunhump’. This track went on to be remixed and re-released globally in countries such as Holland, England and America and remixed by artists such as Mijk Van Dijk, Classified Project and most recently, Richard Durand. Other Viridian releases included the Moochn EP and the F Communications remix on Laurent Garnier’s label.

In recent years, viridian has been experimenting with merging traditional electronic instruments such as the TB303 and the MPC4000 with synthesis algorithm implementations in the Pure Data software application. In recent times, he has played alongside more experimental artists such as Richard Devine and been involved with the Red Bull Music Academy 2006.

In 2007, viridian is currently working new tracks such as ‘viridian systems’ and ‘lilly love doll’. He has also formed the new live duo ‘Redboxx’ with Melbourne dj Matt Radovich, performing a combination of booty, electrobass and ghetto-tech. Further, viridian has just completed the soundtrack for part 1 of the 3 part series of EXIT films by Marek Polgar.
