“Most kids grew up on the playground, I grew up in recording studios. There is nowhere else that feels more like home to me. Don’t get me wrong, I got my time in on the monkey bars with my friends, but I always preferred working. That’s just me.” Bettina got her start as a professional entertainer at age 5, acting and modeling. Acting led to voice-overs (including Rugrats, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite), voice-overs led to Disney children's records, which have led to jingles (McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It”), film scores, back-up singing, numerous songwriting collaborations with well-known writers in both Nashville and LA, and countless opportunities to perform live including sharing the stage with Ashanti and P. Diddy’s Dream. Having grown up in recording studios, her evolution as a professional artist has been organic. “One of the coolest things about having the childhood I had is listening to my evolution as a singer/songwriter reflected in recordings. And now, having gone from singing in a hip-hop group to structured Nashville songwriting sessions to freestyling in LA dive bars with guys in dreadlocks, I have so much more to draw from as an artist than ever before.” Bettina’s myriad influences from the country, R&B, and pop worlds are as diverse as her multicultural heritage. Bettina’s true evolution and direction as an artist free to do her own thing has been recognized by many amongst them are acclaimed Sony producer/songwriter Automatic (Pink, India Arie) with whom she is currently co-writing and cutting tracks, and American Idol Underground who named her winner of the Pop Category and featured her on Fox during the American Idol broadcast. Bettina’s first independent solo release, the appropriately titled “Lucky Girl”, features the single “She Is”, a tribute to the love between her parents. The beautifully produced music video for “She Is” directed by Armando Valdes-Kennedy (CSI Miami) displays Bettina’s unique appeal and has been aired on Fox Reality Channel, generating even more industry and public demand for this emerging artist. “Since Lucky Girl was released, the fan support has been amazing.
