Fairytales from...

About Me

I live in Patra, the largest city in south western Greece.
Ever since I can remember myself I have loved music and I have been playing it since the high school days.
I recorded my first album ''A bird's eye view'' (Palmos -BMG)
in the early nineties, just after the recording of ''Lexeme'',
an album by the band Lexeme in which I was the guitarist.
In 1996 I participated in ''The New Local Jazz Rock Scene
(Dytiki Akti 96)'', the CD collection of Greece's leading music magazine "Pop / Rock", with 3 songs.
In 1999 I recorded the concept album ''Fairytales from... ''
The CD contained 17 tracks in 3 separate thematic units.
(Lazy dog records).
All albums have been released by small independent labels
with no promotion whatsoever, and despite this,
it was a pleasant surprise to find out how many people
know of them or even own a copy.
The press reviews were very encouraging too:

My upcoming CD is a concept album titled

'' The Message of the Prince''.
http://www.myspace.com/themessageoftheprince
It is performed by my duet.
Eugenios Voulgaris, a master of eastern music instruments , best friend , companion and me.
Our influences on the CD range
from traditional Greek to psychedelic sound.
''Mediterranean sound'' We call it...
'' The Message of the Prince'' was introduced to the public as a theatrical live on January 26, 2005 at the Municipal and regional theater of Patra, with narrated words and thoughts of poet Dionyssis Karatzas, who was inspired by the music.
All tracks were recorded in my personal studio by me.
In the past I have worked with many artists as sound engineer , producer, or both of them, on CD..s like:
Giorgos Metaxas - My friend Mephisto
Raining Pleasure - Nostalgia
Eugenios Voulgaris & Dora Petridi - Wanderings
Yannis Mavridis & Dimitris Dimakopoulos
- Works for violin and guitar
Maxim Mankovsky - Works for Percussion
Plucked String Orchestra Municipality Of Patras &
Mikis Theodorakis - From Cinema and Theatre
Polyphonic Byzantine Choir of Patras - Byzantine Hymns
The New Local Jazz Rock Scene (Dytiki Akti 96)
- Pop & Rock Magazine Collection CD
and more ..
