I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am currently based in the North-West, co-running indie mag Silicone Fish, an arts and culture publication. The usual content includes poetry, short stories, comedic starsigns, cartoons, food and drink recipes, listings, fashion, reviews of music, film, theatre and literature, as well as the odd random article about events, places, people and whatever else gets sent our way.
Although Silicone Fish is currently based in the North-West of England, we do have distributors based in parts of Scotland and the Midlands and likewise the content covers arts and culture from all stretches of the country. Our aim is to promote artistic, creative, talented and deserving individuals whom would otherwise struggle to find a platform for their work. As a part of this ethic we colaborate with venues in hosting events, allowing us to showcase bands, solo artists, comedians, DJs and VJs, guest speakers and artists, as well as allowing us to raise awareness and money for good causes, such as OXFAM. If you are interested in performing at a future Silicone Fish event then please get in contact.

My Interests

Good music, quality film-making and intelligent writing.
Although secretly sometimes I listen to power ballads, and I do admittedly own a copy of the 80's not-so-classic film 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt clad up to the eyeballs in legwarmers and high school hormones!
Other than that I have respectable tastes...
Pizza (mmmm..) Elephant polo, swimming ('cos everyone just has to have swimming) and shoes.

I'd like to meet:

People who are adverse to stalking is usually a good starting point...
I am always looking to meet musicians, artists, fellow critical and creative writers, self publishers, designers, comedians, DJs and VJs, event organisers, anyone interested in stocking our publication at their store or venue, and anyone who has a relevent advertisment they would like to place. I would love to hear from anyone who has feedback on Silicone Fish Magazine or any of our affiliated events.
If you have as yet not had the pleasure of the real in-your-hands copy of the mag, send me a message and I can point you in the right direction. Likewise for enquiries regarding submissions, please send me a messsage and I can then pass on any relevent information concerning wordcount and suitability etc.
