I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I like to enjoy life to the max. I take chances and hardly ever pass up an opportunity to try new things or have some fun. I like the great outdoors. I go camping and hiking whenever I can. (Basically, just an excuse to get wasted in the woods) Whatever. I go to the beach every chance I get as well. It's easy to do when the ocean is at your back door. I am vegetarian with strong interests in food and how it came to be. I don't go for GMO's or artificial crap. I'm Organic, Baby. I shop local and frequent farmer's markets. I try to avoid big supermarket chains where they sell 'food porn". I grow my own when I'm able to as well. I am a jewlery maker and designer, using sterling silver, semi precious stones, beads and reclaimed objects. My pieces are one of a kind and very unique. I sell my work privately or by commision. I have a shop girl day job. It pays the rent and lets me be creative.

My Interests

Animal welfare, Food politics, the sorry and sad state of this planet (it's the only one we have, take better care of it!!!) I'm a total cookbook freak. I will read cookbooks cover to cover for hours on end. This helps me cook mega-licious gourmet vegan meals for my friends to devour greedily.

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet vegetarian, animal lovin' alternative music listening people. Musicians, artists or any body with an interesting take on life. Freaks are welcome.

Music:

I like it LOUD, fast and totally rocking! Alternative (what the hell does this mean anymore?), punk, metal and old school hardcore. (My neighbours hate me). I like Bikini Kill, Fantomas, Foo Fighters, Marilyn Manson, Mudhoney, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, Nine Inch Nails, Offspring, Buzzcocks, Real Mckenzies, Crystal Pistol, Black Halos, Big John Bates, Southern Culture on the Skids, Reverend Horton Heat, Nashville Pussy, Clutch, Bad Religion, Beastie Boys, Beck, Bjork, Sugarcubes, Blink 182, Buckethead, Primus, Butthole Surfers, Dead Can Dance, Faith No More, Frank Black, Gogol Bordello, Iggy Pop, Jane's Addiction, L7, Massive Attack, Portishead, Ministry, Misfits, Morcheeba, Muse, NOFX, Ramones, Puya, Radiohead, Rancid, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, The Ataris, The Damned, Misfits, Tool, Joan Jett, Hole, The Amps, The Breeders, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, Teenage Head, Patti Smith, The Donnas, The Cramps, Lou Reed, New York Dolls, Bif Naked, Cibo Matto, Jesus and Mary Chain, Devo, Filter, Melissa Auf de Mar, Queen, The Sweet, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Suzie Quatro, David Bowie, The Tubes, Mott the Hoople, Kiss, Twisted Sister.

Movies:

I like scary slasher type movies. The more blood and gore, the better. David Cronenburg, you rock! Adventure movies (Indiana Jones), cheesy Sinbad movies from the 60's are all good. Attack of the Killer Tomatoe's!!!You gotta love it when vegetables go bad! Phantom of the paradise with Paul Williams. Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, and A Mighty Wind.

Television:

Ah, brain rot in your own home. I like crap on the tube. Re-runs of Star Trek TNG. Rude cartoons like Quads and Duckman and The Oblongs. Futurama is the best. Family Guy and Simpsons. Showcse (HBO for those in USA) shows some quality programming. Oz, Queer as Folk and Kink. Xena, Warrior Princess, Hercules, Highlander, the series and the movies. Twitch City, Arrested Development and Curb your Enthusiasm.

Books:

Cookbooks, Trade magazines (jewelry)

Heroes:

David Suzuki, John Robbins, Paul Watson (let's hear it for eco-terrorism!) Bif Naked, Woody Harrelson, and all the vegetarians of the world. Women who actually want to have a child and do. (Yuck) Marc Emery, THE prince of pot. (Don't let the yanks get you.)
