For Centuries the American system has facilitated the destruction of the identity of its citizens of African descent for its own benefit. The System has been reluctant to right its wrongs. The identity "Given" to American citizens of African descent has been a reflection of the deep rooted resentment of American society as a whole. Through various mediums (television, school, movies, periodicals, etc.), this malicious system has convinced Americans of all backgrounds, including African Americans themselves, that they are naturally inferior or lacking when compared to other nationalities. This system is still unwilling to acknowledge the contribution of African civilization to world culture, as it would prove to directly contradict their long-standing claim of superiority.

The American P.R.I.D.E. Movement was designed primarily to reverse the attitude of complete disregard and complacency concerning the socio-economic dilemma in African American culture. It was created to make American society uncomfortable with "the way things are". The Movement was created to help rebuild the Esteem and Identity of American citizens of African descent that was destroyed and still being ignored by the American system. In efforts to accomplish this mission, The American P.R.I.D.E. Movement has established an internet presence, where extensive educational information pertaining to African American history is introduced. The Movement brandishes unique and provocative images that are accompanied by an even more provoking social truth that directly affects the African American community. The images also serve to reinforce the positive ideals of our culture. Collectively, these measures are intended to saturate American society with the message of The Movement, they will highlight the issues plaguing the African American community, and provoke critical thought concerning these issues, ideally, leading to a productive move toward change. In the spirit of our Great Ancestry, The American P.R.I.D.E. Movement was developed to fearlessly state that the distorted and biased interpretation of who we are as a people, will no longer be accepted. In short, WE WILL NO LONGER BE DEFINED BY THOSE WHO DESPISE OUR VERY EXISTENCE.www.theamericanpridemovement.com
