My Bloody Valentines Day is an annual celebration, created and held by Canadian band NATIONAL MONUMENT to make tribute to those great bands of the shoegazer era. The first one was held in Febuary 2006 at the Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Last years event seen bands Novillero, National Monument, and Absent Sound saluting bands of the era, present and past, such as MBV, Swervedriver, Spaceman 3, Spiritulized, The Verve, Stereolab, Ride, Slowdive, Jesus and Mary Chain, and many others. The venue is decorated in a valentines day theme with shoegazer albums and british beer as some of the door prizes, video, a light show, an art exibit, rose girls and much more. Look out for this years celebration in Winnipeg, Manitoba and in other cities in Canada in the months of Febuary. We are working on eventually bringing this to cities in the U.S and Europe.
