SKALD was formed in November 2005 by the two drunk friends Henrik & David whom then decied to play folk metal, inspired by old Nordic folklore and the majesty of the Scandinavian nature. Since SKALD is a duo, the music was recorded straight into David's computer (with drums programmed and the bass lacking). The first demo "Sagor Från Skogstjärnen" (Stories From The Forest's Bog) was released in March 2006 and is now regarded as a major disaster by the two members.
Second demo "Trolska Vemodsband"(Trollish Bonds Of Agony) was released in December the same year and this effort was more satisfactory by both members as well as fans.
The very last days of 2006, SKALD was contacted by Swedish label Unexploded Records and in March 2007 a contract was inked. Unexploded will release SKALD's upcoming MCD "I En Svunnen Tid" (In A Vanished Age) in 500 limited copies. The recordings takes place in Studio Eclipse and the sound will definitly surprise everyone who has heard SKALD before. Expect the unexpected!
