My story...
Music started for me when jungle was about, I use to learn them bate old school street fighter lyrics… ken and ryu in the arena…. I wish I could remember the whole lyric… well those were the days when I started to spit then it died down until house & garage came about, slowly I got back in to spitting and then started to write… those times I didn’t know what bars were and use to just write like 9 bar lyrics, these were the days when crews were the in thing so I spoke to Jonah who went to the same school as me and asked him if he wanted to form a crew so we did… it was me… Jonah & Janer (MC Bigga!). We were called the Ruff Cut Crew… how bate is that name… hold tight Janer thats old school memories! I remember the day when Jonah bought his decks from turnkey… blood that was a long ting!!!! then as time went by writing and spitting became long there were better things to do like make money so these times I started to concentrate on my social life and left the whole music thing behind me… Ruff Cut Crew died… but Jonah was still on to the mixing, then as more time went by Jonah got on to some hype were he wanted to buy a pc and make beats on it, I remember the 1st beat Jonah made he was at yard with Adam and they started to re-make the rug rats tune I weren’t there but heard the beat over the phone… I thought the beat was decent still! During this whole garage music ting I had 3 close friends on to this hip hop movement… LSD (Lighter Shades of Darkness) which consisted of David, Jebba & Alex, and then Alex had a neighbour… Marcus, he was doing this garage ting as well under the name Nightmare Crew which was him, Naathan, Darkness and Point 5. Then 1day Jonah, David and Naathan are chilling at Jonahs and decide to make another crew which was named Haunted House Productions, the original plan was to have LSD & Nightmare link up as a collective with Jonah and make music together… slowly things started to kick off Jonah made a beat, the song was called Lyrics… I heard the beat and asked Jonah if I could write something to it… he said cool and then from there I guess I joined Haunted House but these times I was dusty! Got on radio… Ouch FM and just kept on writing bars… these times still dusty! But Haunted House was building up… it got squashed from Nightmare… LSD to just Haunted House… Point 5 left the team… Leon joined the team (1st time he recorded a lyric… it was a 1take… shabby!) as time went by we did bate road shows and even entered urban voice (hold tight anyone that heard Switch… watch out for the new version soon) we didn’t really get to far but I think that’s a good thing… more time went by we recorded 442 (football) and then the front men of Haunted House (Marcus, Naathan & Darkness) got on to Y2K then slowly there became a divide between the team so me getting no practice on radio thought to myself… We gotta get on radio… simple! then 1day mans listen to Mystic FM and heard an advert looking for DJ’s and what not, so I take down the number ring up and get shown to bring a CD of us doing are ting so I link management and drop them a CD (Haunted Vibes… hold tight everyone that got that CD… them times there I’m still dusty) we get told to reach the meeting so me and Jonah reach, the meeting was in some bate shop… Mystic them times was just ghetto… man meet management and boom we get blessed with a 8 till 10 on a Wednesday (hold tight Passionate, Aggie b, and Doubles) a month goes by and things are going well, then Adam goes to me if he could get a DJ set mixing and making prank calls so I speak to management and boom we get blessed again with a 8 till 10 on a Monday (hold tight Jamain Montana… funny guy) another month goes by on pirate radio… then 1day Pro goes to me that Kiss FM are doing a competition were u can win a set on the station so boom man makes a quick CD and David takes it down to kiss the next day… a few weeks later… the front men of Haunted House… Naathan, Marcus and Darkness decide to leave the team for business reasons… this was a big hit to the team but man dem thought fuck it… we’ll just keep grindin… then a week later we get a phone call (hold tight Ollie) saying we made it into the final 4 of the kiss competition, so us man get all hyped and get on to our grind for the competition… we make a song specifically for the station (100s &1000s) battle it through the soundclash got pure people to text and boom man dem won, we get blessed with a graveyard shift but grind are way on to a Tuesday 11 till 1 show get nominated for a Sony award didn’t win but got a free meal… cant complain really… but while all this kiss hypes popping off man clocks Pro on to this rap ting, man brings him into the team and boom everything’s moving we re-record 442 without Naathan, bring Pro on it instead… Adam asks if he could join Haunted House… boom… were all good to go… I quit work and were getting something like 60,000 hits a week per radio show (I’m still kinda dusty but I’m making progress) we get offered a daytime Sunday show… but us man don’t take it for business reasons (it was a bit of a sell your soul ting) and then slowly everything starts to fall apart again 442 was released didn’t do too well… we released the tune to late… everything has it time and we missed it… then Pro & Alex decide to leave… for business reasons and then us man just started to fuck about reaching late for shows, swearing live and just being road guys in the kiss building… Foolish! (hold tight Karl from security… shabby guy still man let us fuck up FHM) then boom we get suspended for fucking about and a few weeks later we get fired… over the phone for arguing with security (not Karl)… hold tight security guys I swear the majority of them are pricks not all of them but most of them think cause they got a little uniform on there fucking feds or something… your not cuz you’re a prick! You know who you are… fucking nob head… There were rumours of us man condoning the UMF rape ting and being kicked off for that… which was bullshit it weren’t that… come on now… in the end the kiss thing dies but it was decent while it lasted man come away with a lot of hype (front cover rewind) and we learnt a lot about the industry (its fuckrie!!!) but man dem weren’t fazed we just knew we had to keep grindin regardless of what happened with kiss… whats done is done… deal with it you know them 1s… so us man just started to build on are awaited Road Album… Homework! These are the times man starts to progress… I aint got no 9 till 5 so all my time is focused on music & progression… We make a 4track CD put it up on to myspace (www.myspace.com/hauntedhouse001) made a quick video for On it… Adam gets a link with channel U… boom On it gets done and put on to U! Pro brings me on to his mixtape (Upper Clapton dance) he brings me out on The Streets tour… he cant pay me but I’m on it just to see whats good… and to be real… man learnt a lot… hold tight Skinner, the Mitchell Brothers, Sway (your moving cuz!) watching them lot perform just made me hungry!!! Man comes off tour gets back into the manor and then things start to go funny again… my neighbours are on to me because of my studio and loud music… then councils on to mumzi… THEN MUMZIs ON TO ME!!!! So man makes a quick move out to country rebuild the studio out there and we get back on to the homework… Then I dust out for a hot month to record my Road Album… I’ve more or less recorded it, I still got a few things to do on it but overall things are more or less done… the 1st single is MUMS THE WORD (produced by Jonah D) which should be ready soon! Watch out for Homework... its sounding big swear down! Shout outs to my family, my brother, sisters, niece, nephew and of course my mumzi… thanks for all the free rent!
