CHRISTINE NATANAEL:
I live in NYC and spend way too much time on the computer working on my online music magazine(www.crushermagazine.com)
I've been known to be a bitch, but that's not necessarily a bad thing...especially if you knew you were deserving it. I'll give you a pretty long rope, but when it runs out, I'll be jerkin' it on ya pretty damn hard, so don't act all surprised. You knew you were tryin' to get over, so just admit it and take that spankin' like a big boy or girl.
I love music, art, and photography. I grew up in the South, can probably kick your ass, have a thing for knives, harleys, bad boys & girls, tattoos, and anything that gets my adrenaline pumping...I'm a bad ass in the kitchen....
I love to support and promote my friend's bands....(meaning those i know in real life, not in the virtual myspace world...) and expect them to promote and support my mag Crusher just the same....and those who are my friends know just how loyal I can be...even when their record labels and "so-called" friends and fans desert them for the newer fads...and they also know they can trust me to tell them when something they do truly sucks when everyone else is lying to their face...it is what it is, so why sugar coat it??? It ain't gonna make or break a friendship, ya know? I think we're all a few years past jr. high by now...
If you know me through the club scene and think you know the real me from just hanging out seeing bands or from reading my writings in the magazines or on my website...you're dead wrong...I guarantee I know more about the musicians I write about than people I've seen in the bars of NYC for the last 20 years know about me...how fuckin' sad is that???
I've written for Creem, Details, Metal Mania, Rock Scene, Reflex, Powerline, Livewire, Creem's Thrash Metal, Metal Hammer, Easyrider's Tattoo, Varla, and IFQ among others. It's many hours of long hard work and not nearly as cool as you'd think. (Point in case: Think about the scene in the movie ALMOST FAMOUS where the kid calls up the famous writer Lester Bangs and is surprised when he's actually home...and Lester tells him it's because, "I'm just not cool." Truer words were never spoken. Thanks, Cameron Crowe!!!)
I worked at Gibson Guitars doing endorsements, where I signed Nirvana, White Zombie, Hootie and the Blowfish, Me'shell N'dege'ocello, Biohazard, Rocket From the Crypt, Testament, Killing Joke, Alice In Chains, Hanzel und Gretyl and many others. Not as hard as writing, but more hectic...
I've worked for Mark Kostabi as a sketch artist in his think tank. And there I got to meet his very cool musician/producer brother, Paul "Ena" Kostabi, who recently produced my friends' the She-Wolves. You should definitely check out their page here on MySpace as well as their website (see link below...)
I've modeled for Eric Kroll and have been in his books Fetish Girls and Beauty Parade. If you know who that actually is, then you now know a whole lot more about me, and you can pride yourself on the fact that you're smarter than the average bear, Yogi...
I've recently returned to live concert photography...which is what I moved to NYC to do originally, but somehow got sidetracked into the writing end of things...and yes...these are all my photos on this page (as well as the newer ones when you click the pics link under the profile picture)...so if you're gonna steal them, give credit where credit is due or I'll have to hunt you down and kill you as slowly and painfully as possible, because I like to play with my food first before I eat it...do you understand the definition of the word kill??? Good...
