We are all Free Under Constant Threat

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Based in New York City, Free Under Constant Threat is an alternative/post-hardcore band that has been compared to My Chemical Romance, The Smashing Pumpkins, and even Queen. The majority of their songs are fast-paced and aggressive, but F.U.C.T. (that's the acronym for the band's name) also has a melodic side that's delivered from Dave Struzzi's bass lines and Russ Cowen's riffs. Free Under Constant Threat got their start in October of 2005. Queens born Singer Tony Long had just gotten out of a failed musical project and was looking for like-minded musicians who wanted to take over the NYC underground rock scene. His first audition brought in drummer Mike Wilson from Amityville, Long Island and a kid named Elio from Brooklyn. Although shy and somewhat soft-spoken, Mike proved to be the best and hardest-hittingdrummer that Tony had ever played with. It was in that moment that Tony knew he was on the right track. Elio eventually brought in Brooklyn's own Dave Struzzi, who just so happened to have the melodic sound that Tony and Mike were after. Elio was eventually asked to leave the band because of artistic differences, and the trio of boys set out to find their lead guitarist. In the meantime, they wrote "Summer's Gone", "Get Off The Cross", and "Rain Slick Fire", as well as the other songs played at their extremely energetic shows. After playing with Ofir Ganinon for a few months (who is now the lead guitarist for Flavor of the Sun), the guys met Russ Cowen, fresh to New York from Alston Rock City, Mass., and it was almost immediately that the guys knew that they had their lead guitarist. Russ added his hardcore influence to the songs, and in doing so, brought new meaning to the band's songs. Since Russ' initiation into the band, the songs have rocked harder then ever before, leaving countless eardrums humming for more at venues like CBGB's, The Continental, The Pussycat Lounge, and Arlene's Grocery.
Although the band has been compared to modern screamo and hardcore bands, the members of Free Under Constant Threat have many influences. Mike is heavily into Circa Survive, Thursday, and Coheed and Cambria. Tony is into everything from Iron Maiden to Thelonius Monk, The Cure, MCR, and The Smashing Pumpkins. Dave is into STP, AFI and Pearl Jam, and Russ is a hardcore fan of Deicide, The Chinese Stars, old school Metallica, and various death metal bands. As a result, the new songs are sounding more diverse than ever before. Lyrically, Tony's words flow in a way that is not heard in other bands playing in the scene. The band is now working on getting their demo into as many hands as possible while trying to secure a record deal. There are already talks of an EAST COAST TOUR, and they're finishing writing what's to be their debut album. On November 14th, the band was also featured and interviewed on New Jersey's own Electric Cheez show, hosted by Frankie Cheez and Ken Sobe.
F.U.C.T is not just a band, but a message. A message to anyone that's ever felt put down by the man, their mom, or their girlfriend/boyfriend. Free Under Constant Threat is about living in a world that's never truly safe. It's about living with false hopes and dreams, and knowing that you're only happy because someone said you CAN be. It's about a world that's fucked up, that doesn't give a shit about what you want, but only about how expendable you are. You're Free Under Constant Threat right now. You think you're free to think, but when the government is checking out what books and movies you're reading and watching, and they can detain you for researching what they feel you shouldn't be sticking your nose into, then you'll come to realize that we're all modern day slaves. When someone's got one over on you, you're F.U.C.T. It's time to break free and not give a shit about what we can and cannot do. It's time to revolt. It's time to tell anyone who gets in your way, "Fuck you! I'm a fucking human and you can't take that away from me!" Be who you want to be, love who you are, and hate who you were. Free Under Constant Threat is NOT a political band, but a band that truly believes that everyone is just perfect the way they are.

Influences:I'd like to say that our biggest influences are each other. We each come from such different musical backgrounds that we're always learning from each other. People who have heard us live have said that we sould post-hardcore with an extra bit of old school rock added. Some have said that we sound like a power punk band, whatever that mean. We'll let you the listener be the judge.

Sounds Like:
