Plan 17
Plan 17 started out their career as a 4 piece basement punk band back in 2000, they have come a very long way since then. Today, Plan 17 is an energetic ska/punk band with Reggae, Rock, and Hip-hop influences. They include a 3 piece horn section with a loud driving rhythm section to create their unique sound. The bands influences range from Operation Ivy and The Clash to Bob Marley and Toots and the Maytals. Now Boston based, the band plays to packed crowds all around Massachusetts. In the past few years Plan 17 has moved from playing local VFW shows to playing predominant Massachusetts clubs including: The Middle East (upstairs and downstairs), The Paradise Rock Club, Harpers Ferry, Bills Bar, and The Avalon. Plan 17 has also played up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida. It was at these venues where the band shared the stage with the greats of their genre such as: Catch 22, Big D and the Kids Table, The Toasters, Kicked in the Head, ASOB, The Stray Bullets, Mass Hysteria, and Beat Soup just to name a few. On their first summer tour Plan 17 played at the Live World Cafe (the biggest All-Ages Venue in Philly) and Kahunnaville (Wilmington DE, which features acts such as The Wailers). The band has also independently released the "Laying Awake" EP which has sold extremely well in stores through out New England. Plan 17 recently competed in the Emergenza International Music Festival battle of the bands. They made it into the National USA finals placing 9th out of hundreds of bands from around the country. In the Summer of 2006 the band set off for their 2nd east coast tour. Their new album, "Don't Walk Away", is their best work yet and is available now.
