Once Upon A Time 1985 to 19951985- ONCE UPON A TIME were formed in Melbourne, Australia, by singer songwriter BRUNO ADAMS and ex-members of local Underground acts; HEREM SCEREM, WHIRLYWIRLD, and CRIME & THE CITY SOLUTION.1986- Played around Melbourne’s pub-circuit building a loyal following of fans and local musicians1987- Supported international acts; NICO, SCREAMING JAY HAWKINS, CRIME & THE CITY SOLUTION.1988- Recorded 1st LP including local hit, “SONG FOR GHOSTS“, writen for the classic Australian underground film “GHOSTS OF THE CIVIL DEAD“. Produced by Tony Cohen.1989- Left Australa for Europe
1990- Supported NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS through out Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium, as official support act for “THE GOOD SON TOUR“.
-1st LP, “ONCE UPON A TIME“ released in Germany to critical acclaim; “...a bombastic record of genius.“ –N.M.E.. “A remarkable sum of individuality“. OX.- Moved to Berlin permanently and started playing the Berlin club scene, evoking press reactions such as; “...since arriving in Berlin nine months ago, they have given one briliant concert after another“. –LIMITED EDITION. “...one of the most inovative new editions to Berlin’s music scene“. –N.M.E. “...a band for the future“ . –PRINZ.1991- Recorded 2nd LP “IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE“ (WHAT’S SO FUNNY ABOUT/INDIGO). Produced by MICK HARVEY.1992- 2nd LP released to critical accl.. “ ...a lonley romantic ode, to burst angrily into disonnent noise. “ –Beatmix. “Once Upon A time come without the usual cliches...the wolfs let them howl anyway...rings with the greatest lament ever drawn from a guitar“. –TAZ.- Played as official support group to THE SWANS through-out Europe. “ONCE UPON A TIME? I think they’re brilliant “. MICHEAL GERA interveiw, CHELSEA CRONICAL. Viena.1993- Recorded 3rd album in CITRON STUDIOS, OSTRAVA, CZ.
-Supported THE GUN CLUB in Berlin and Hamburg1994-95 -Release 3rd LP, “DON’T LOOK DOWN“.“Record of the month“. –ZILLO. “ONCE UPON A TIME marry the right sound to the right time and look into the future with musical genius“. –SUBLINE. “The glow of individuality“. –WIRTSCHAFTZEIT, Vienna. “...the level of tension they create can only be described as pure intensity“. –EB/MATRONOM.- Toured Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, and Czech republic over 3 months. Their concert in Prague was hailed as “The concert of the year“ by leading czech rock jornal, ROCK & POP.-ONCE UPON A TIME returned to Australia after a 5 year absence selling out local clubs by the end of their stay. “An incredible experiance...one of the best concerts I’ve seen this year“. –Australian Rolling Stone.Once Upon A Time broke up in 1996. Since then they have done reunion concerts in Berlin and Prague in 2004 and 2005.
