About Me

Everyone that loves music has a band or record that serves as the "cornerstone" of their musical taste. For me, that band was Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and the record was "Brain Salad Surgery". To me clearly the most forward thinking record of the seventies, hearing "Brain Salad Surgery" as a kid made me want to be an A&R guy at a major record company. The album artwork was also my introduction to the art of H.R.Giger, whose artwork I still cherish and collect today.Years after first hearing the album I got my wish, and was lucky enough to spend a bunch of years working as an A&R guy at various record companies.I was an A&R guy at MCA records for many years. Before that I was an A&R guy at Interscope Records. Before that I worked at Relativity Records. In 2003 I retired and moved my family to Marco Island, FL.Now I'm co-owner of a Real Estate Brokerage in South West Florida called IBR, and I'm very happy to go into BestBuy on Tuesdays to buy just the music I like !!Over the years I worked for and with so many incredibly talented people. I'm so grateful for the many people that helped me along the way. Mad props to all the artists I worked with and became friends with...It's enriched my life to be around you and learn from you ...Peace, Hans

Music:

Anything on Relapse, Blackout, Noiseville, Ipecac....and Death-Row! Old school, new school...I like a bunch of it!Anything produced by Scrap60 or my boy Rob C. Anything by Massive Attack, Tricky, Cradle Of Filth, Nonpoint, Skindred, Neurosis, Godflesh, Cathedral, River City High, H20 , Paradise Lost, Transglobal Underground, GVSB and Loop Guru. I LOVE anything by either Matt or Dan Wilson, Semisonic, and some stuff by Trip Shakespeare. I also really like anything by Year Of The Rabbit, Failure, and ON...Did I mention Ken Andrews? Howard Stern is a daily thing. Lately I really like the Charlotte Gainsbourg record, and this band called Deathstars. Today I've been listening to Mixel Pixel. There's never a bad time to listen to Shaggy or Rayvon, and Yellowman "Orphan" is my ring tone. Does anyone have a CD of the Armageddon record (with Keith Relph)? I need one !
