The winner will have Lunch with Maurice and recieve a Little Maurice.
Noah is the first Courageous Companion that was selected to enjoy a special lunch with Maurice. 4 year old Noah has undergone numerous blood transfusions in his short lifetime. He is full of life and love despite the fact that he is terminally ill. His iron count is over 800, 75 is normal. Maurice and Noah enjoyed their pizza together. Noah was concern that Maurice was going to drink too of his soda. His eyes lit up with delight when he received his own Little Maurice, which has since become his best friend. As Maurice and I drove home, the sky opened up and torrential rain fell. When it started to clear up, I witnessed beautiful double rainbows. The inner arch was the brightest rainbow I had ever seen! I knew that today with Noah was special. We invite you continuing sharing smiles with Noah by sending cards and keeping him in your prayers. The children that we were entertaining in Mexico don’t have anyone to call mom and dad. It’s very sad to see how in today’s day and age how there is still so much poverty. With the economy the way it is, we shouldn’t have anyone living in a cardboard box, sidewalk or garbage dump. The devastation we witnesses will stay with us forever. On a cold night there was a little boy who took his blanket and crunched it up in a pile next to him in his bed. He then took the corner of the blanket and wrapped it around the back of his neck to his shoulder. After that he was talking to this blanket as if it was his mother. And she had her arm around him keeping him safe and secure. It was more important for this child to fill that feeling of loneliness inside then to stay warm with the blanket. When we gave this child a little Maurice puppet, his eyes light up. He was so happy. A few minutes later, the child came back over to us and handed the little Maurice puppet back. I wasn’t sure why he was giving it back to me. Then I realized that he thought we were just letting him play with it. When I explained to him that it was for him to keep, it was like we gave this kid a million dollars. He took that puppet and held it so tight and ran off with a huge smile on his face.Nothing is more rewarding than to see a smile on a child’s face. My goal in life is to share moments in time with the kids who have nothing. The kids who no one wants to see. The kids who people forget about. To entertain the people who cant afford it. To show those kids someone does love them and care for them. And I want to put a little Maurice in their hands to fill that feeling of loneliness. Please help us!Bret Amazzeing and Maurice Visited area Children's Hospitals in FloridaRecently Bret Amazzeing and Maurice came all the way from New Jersey to create a memorable moment that will last forever for the special needs children at St. Mary's children's hospital in West Palm Beach, Joe Dimaggio's children's hospital in Hollywood, Shriners children hospital and domestic violence centers in Tampa.
