About Me

Actress, Producer, aspiring filmmaker, CAT was born in April the Bronx, New York. She was raised as an only child in Queens. Her desire to pursue a career in the entertainment arena began at an early age when she landed her first principal role as Dorothy in the musical stage play THE WIZ. Everyone raved about her gift for memorization, as well as her stage presence. In 1990, she began her career as an actress and dancer, appearing in various stage musicals. After a 10 year pursuit in the entertainment industry, she decided to concentrate on her college studies. At the age of 23, CAT married the love of her life and gave birth to three beautiful children; their middle child, was diagnosed with Autism-PDD which lead CAT to the decision of becoming a stay at home mom to tend to her son's needs, while launching a successful wedding consulting business.Years later, CAT's passion for acting resurfaced. In 2005, she enrolled in acting classes taught by top professionals in Atlanta. Her career began to flourish, as she landed a roll as a Hispanic character Rosa, in the Blockbuster film “4 minutes”. A series of acting jobs followed, including four principal roles in various independent projects as well as featured roles for films shot around Atlanta. After working in the entertainment business for a short period of time, CAT realized the need of more positive films and positive role models in the industry. She decided not only to act but to write, direct and produce her own life changing films. It wasn’t long before CAT found mentors to help her learn about filmmaking. She teamed up with two influential people in the film industry and began to assist with their projects as Associate Producer. The collaboration led to various projects such as “A Fight for Justice” where CAT co-wrote and starred in. She is a certified producer with People TV and is also a member of Women in Film Atlanta. Currently, CAT is working on implementing her production company “About Face Productions” and is now in the pre-production phase of her talk show for women. She is also in the process of writing and directing life changing documentaries. On January 15th, 2006, CAT competed in the 2006 Ms. Black Georgia USA pageant. She took home the title of first runner up, and in August 2006, CAT was promoted to Ms. Black Georgia, USA 2006.She is honored to serve as a Queen in her state, making a difference! Her reasons for desiring to win this title was far beyond anyone could ever imagine; her platform, autism awareness is something that is near and dear to her heart and is an issue that she faces everyday. After her son Jared was diagnosed with the condition, Autism PDD-NOS,CAT has researched and educated herself about the condition, so that she could provide the necessary care and help to her son. After extensive research CAT discovered that autistic children are actually gifted and most exhibit genius IQ. In fact, Mozart and Sir Isaac Newton were two influential people with this condition who have accomplished great exploits.Rather than focus on the negative effects of this condition, she decided to accentuate the positive attributes and educate others on the phenomenal gifts that these children possess. Her platform, Autism Awareness “Stir up the Gifts” will begin the mission! Her quest is to stir up the gifts that these children possess by organizing therapeutic enriching programs around Georgia.Miss/Ms. Black Georgia USA is a non-profit entity designed to develop, celebrate, and assist with the educational goals of African-American women. The organization believes minority women should be economically empowered, politically astute, spiritually centered, and civic minded. They seek to provide young, talented African-American women a platform to impact their community while gaining statewide and national exposure.
