CHAYANNE, el conocido y carism..tico artista Puertorrique..o, quien desde muy temprano se ha dedicado a la m..sica, ha grabado hasta la fecha 20 ..lbums, 5 de ellos grabados con Ariola/RCA con el grupo “Los Chicos”, uno de los m..s populares grupos durante los a..os 80, y los otros como solista para Sony Music Internacional.
En los tempranos a..os de su carrera se destacaron temas como “Tu Pirata Soy Yo”, “Fuiste Un Trozo De Hielo En La Escarcha” y “Este Ritmo Se Baila As..”, con ..ste ..ltimo se di.. a conocer en todo el mundo y su video gan.. el reconocido Premio MTV, al mejor Video Latino. M..s adelante se hizo merecedor de varias nominaciones a los Premios Grammy bajo categor..as como la de Best Latin Pop Performance.
En el a..o 1989 se destac.. un hecho bien importante dentro de su carrera; la firma con Pepsi en la que Chayanne fue el eje de una campa..a publicitaria internacional de su producto y cuyo comercial hizo historia durante la transmisi..n de los Premios Grammy de ..se a..o, cuando se convirti.. en el primer comercial en espa..ol y sin subt..tulos o doblajes, transmitido por los canales de televisi..n en el idioma Ingl..s.
Al lado de sus constantes giras y grabaciones, CHAYANNE dispone de tiempo para dedicar a diversas actividades de car..cter social. En Julio de 1992 fue reconocido como Embajador Especial de La Fundaci..n Internacional de Inmigrantes ante las Naciones Unidas, por su constante labor humanitaria en pro de los menos favorecidos. Igualmente, su constante preocupaci..n por los ni..os le convierten en el vocero hispano para la Fundaci..n Startlight cuyo objetivo es el de cumplir deseos a ni..os terminales.
Tras un periodo de ausencia presenta Volver A Nacer, el disco con el cual regres.. a su p..blico en el a..o 1996 y definitivamente se consolida como uno de los artistas m..s importantes dentro del mercado Latinoamericano, lugar en el que permanece vigente hasta el d..a de hoy.
El a..o 1998 se destaca por el lanzamiento de su ..lbum Atado A Tu Amor y gracias al sencillo “Salom..” empieza una nueva era en su carrera que le llevar.. m..s all.. de las fronteras para ubicarse ..1 en todas las listas radiales de mercados nuevos como Espa..a; en donde en ..se solo a..o vendi.. un mill..n de copias de su ..lbum, convirti..ndose en el artista m..s popular de la Pen..nsula. Igualmente su ..xito trasciende a Italia, Francia, Turqu..a, Portugal y Suecia.
Otra de las brillantes facetas de CHAYANNE ha sido la de la actuaci..n, participando a lo largo de su carrera en diversas mini-series y telenovelas en Puerto Rico, M..xico y Argentina. En el cine protagoniz.. las pel..culas Los Chicos En Conexi..n Caribe y Linda Sara, del director Jacobo Morales. M..s adelante es conquistado por la pantalla grande y protagoniza junto a la reconocida actriz Vanessa Williams, la pel..cula Dance With Me, que le permiti.. continuar en la escala de los ..xitos internacionales.
En Abril del a..o 2001 acepta trabajar como protagonista en la telenovela “Prov..came”, cuyo rodaje fue realizado por completo en la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Dicha novela fue exportada a toda Latinoam..rica, Estados Unidos Asia y Europa. Tambi..n ha participado como artista invitado en la serie de la TV norteamericana “Ally McBeal”.
Posteriormente, CHAYANNE lanza por primera vez la recopilaci..n de algunos de sus m..s famosos temas. Un ..lbum y un DVD de Grandes ..xitos, que contienen lo m..s significativo de su carrera. El mismo fue apoyado por una extensa gira mundial en donde “Torero” se convirti.. en la canci..n bandera de la misma. Dado el gran ..xito de la gira, el primer sencillo “Y Tu Te Vas” termin.. el a..o siendo elegida como la Canci..n Del A..o de acuerdo a las listas de la revista Billboard. As.. mismo el ..lbum se posicion.. como el de mayor ventas dentro del mercado latino.
Sincero con su indiscutible hit “Un Siglo Sin Ti”, es lanzado en el a..o 2003, seguidamente Desde Siempre y Cautivo proyectos realizados los dos en el a..o 2005. Est.. ..ltimo se destac.. por el medio tiempo “No Te Preocupes Por M..” y la balada “Te Echo De Menos”.
Comenzado este 2007 CHAYANNE nos sorprende con su nuevo ..lbum, MI TIEMPO para el 10 de Abril, el cual ser.. apoyado completamente por una gira que abarca todos los continentes y que presentar.. parte de los temas del nuevo ..lbum.
Indiscutiblemente la carrera del artista CHAYANNE es un ejemplo de la constancia, y el profesionalismo acompa..ados de un gran talento y carisma que le ha hecho ser admirado por un p..blico que bien se puede describir como de todas las edades.
CHAYANNE a very well-known and charismatic Puerto Rican artist began his musical career at age 10 with a musical group called "Los Chicos". As of now, he has recorded 20 albums. The first five albums were recorded with Ariola/RCA with the group in the early 80’s, and the others with Sony-BMG as an exclusive artist.
CHAYANNE has made his mark as a singer, selling millions of albums, earning more than 100 platinum and gold records, as well as RIAA Certifications, several Grammy nominations and a MTV Award for Best International Video. He has had over 24 top ten hits on the Billboard charts, including ..1 position. His last four albums have reached top ten in the album charts and have remained there for over 160 weeks.
CHAYANNE has been the spokesperson for Pepsi when he starred as a major international advertising blitz, which culminated with the first airing of a Spanish language spot on an American TV network (without subtitles or dubbing). This spot aired during the 1989 Grammy Awards telecast and made television history. Other sponsors have been Kodak, American Airlines, Panasonic, Crest, Frito Lays, Adams, Kellogg’s, among others.
Despite his busy schedule, CHAYANNE always finds the time to pursue his altruistic concerns. He was appointed Ambassador to the United Nations for the Immigrants Foundation. He also serves as envoy to the High Commissioner for the United Nations World Refugee Organization. His concern for children led him to become the Hispanic spokesperson for the Starlight Foundation, whose mandate is to grant the wishes of terminally ill children. During 2006 he was appointed as a member of the Celebrity Cabinet for the Red Cross and since then he has been involved with educational campaigns.
CHAYANNE is not just a talented entertainer and humanitarian. According to People Magazine he is one of the "50 most beautiful people in the world". In August of 1994, CHAYANNE was featured on the cover of Playgirl Magazine, accompanied by a six-page article and pictorial (And sorry he did not take it all off).
His world concert tours fill soccer stadiums and his appearances are greeted with mass hysteria. His productions have been choreographed by the likes of Nancy O’Meara, Kenny Ortega, Vince Paterson and Jerry Evans. These productions have been seen by millions of people in all continents.
Besides his passion for music he also has emerged as an actor, starring in four soap operas, mini series, and movies. In 1997 CHAYANNE did his first English movie, sharing the big screen with Vanessa Williams and Kris Kristofferson. The movie, Dance With Me, enhances the ballroom dance as well as the Latin rhythm. It was released in August 1998 in the US, and thereafter released in Latin America, Europe, and Asia by Sony Pictures. The movie soundtrack includes two duets by CHAYANNE and Vanessa, which were written by the well-known composer/writer Diane Warren. Later on he did a special appearance in two episodes of the famous TV sitcom, “Ally McBeal”. For the Spanish speaking market he has starred in soap-operas, mini-series, and movies in Argentina, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
From his album Atado A Tu Amor, the single, “Salome”, became the hit of the summer in Spain, France, Sweden, and throughout Europe. Atado A Tu Amor was the most sold album in Spain in 1999. Thereafter, all his albums including his latest, Grandes Exitos (greatest hits compilation), have been in the top-ten charts all over the world and have been supported with impressive campaigns by his record label.
Later on CHAYANNE released Grandes Exitos with two new songs from which “Torero” became an immediate hit in Latin America and Europe. Also from this album, “Y Tu Te Vas,” was accredited as ‘song of the year’, by the prestigious Billboard Magazine.
Sincero with his undeniable hit, “Un Siglo Sin Ti”, was released in 2003 followed by Desde Siempre and Cautivo, both launched in 2005. Cautivo emphasized the mid-tempo “No Te Preocupes Por Mi” and the ballad “Te Echo De Menos”.
Starting 2007, CHAYANNE surprises his public with the release of a new album, MI TIEMPO on April 10th. The album has been produced by the well-known producer Estefano, and reflects a new musical definition for strong up-tempo songs and melodic ballads; always expressing and suggesting love and tenderness.
The upcoming album will be strongly supported by a world-wide tour where millions of fans will be enjoying the new songs.
