!BEARDFISH!2001: Rikard Sjöblom and David Zackrisson founded Beardfish together with Petter Diamant on drums and Gabriel Olsson on bass. Petter leaves the band after a while...2002: Magnus Östgren joins in together with keyboardist/flutist Stefan Aronsson and some recording occurs.2003: Robert Hansen replaces Gabriel on bass and Beardfish records their debut album "Från En Plats Du Ej Kan Se..." in Stefan's studio. Stefan leaves the band shortly thereafter. "Från En Plats..." is released and goes by quite unnoticed. Beardfish continues as a four piece with Rikard replacing Stefan's role as keyboardist. The end of 2003 is a very productive period for the band and some demos are recorded.2004: Beardfish starts the recording of a second album. The first session includes five songs; A love story, Sun is the devil, Ask someone who knows, Now, Akakabotu (unreleased). After this it takes almost a year before the band records again.2005: The band secludes in a cottage outside the little town of Gävle, Sweden to record the rest of the material for the upcoming album. Björn Arnell, a friend of the band, lends them recording equipment and an arsenal of keyboards and effect pedals, helps them set things up in a big old dining room and then leaves to let the band record. This was a truly beautiful process and many songs were recorded, most of them live, so many in fact that Beardfish had to release a double album. "The Sane Day" 2CD was released in December 2005 (the video above is from the release party).2006: Almost immediately the band starts to rehearse new material and in june/july they record what is to become "Sleeping in traffic: part one". The album is practically finished in the end of the summer and Beardfish is also asked to play the ProgDay festival in Chapel Hill N.C. After this trip (met Gary Green from Gentle Giant...) they record one more song called "Roulette" and the album is finished. A few labels contacts the band, among them InsideOut Music, who wants to release the new album. Beardfish signs to Inside Out in the end of the year.2007: New material is being written and recorded and "Sleeping in traffic: Part one" is released to many raving reviews. "SIT: part 2" is in the works and that's where we are right now...TO BE CONTINUED!
