The whole thing started a day during spring 2005, when a concert was going to take place on the school, S:t Mikaels School of Mora, Sweden. Eager to play, as always, but in need of some variation from the old sloppy Jazz-Funk-Fusion, the guys used to play, Tor (Lord l' Saten) and Olle (Roll-On Klasse) decided to do something even funkier. They convinced the guitarist Daniel (Dr Dunkel i Blöjan) to play the bass for them.
The music they created was a mixture of Progressive Rock, Funk, Metal, Jazz, Blues, Alternative, Electronica and Fusion. A vital ingredient they needed was of course some guitarists. Fredrik (Morfar Rid-Smek), bass-player, wanted to join with his wah-wah and rhythm guitar but his criminal record (He was going to play on too many acts during the evening) wouldn’t allow him to join the band. So the guys asked the evil and chubby Martin (Nils SnorAtom) to join on solo-guitar and he accepted after getting a cookie (That Tor got for him from the school cafeteria).
Later on Fredrik got a little frantic and bribed (with what you can only imagine) the organizers of the music event and they agreed to let him join another band. Now that the band was formed the song-creating process began and after various headaches and bleeding fingers, the song Hem-o-Röj had been created. This song was a mixture of cool fusion-grooves and a lot of brutal solos.
As if this was not enough the final spice was added, a tremendous load of perverted sound-effects that definitely arranged the way to the retirement castle for the sound-technicians. Handpicking sounds that the crowd uttered the favourites became ..AAAAAAAAAAAAH.. and "1, 2, 3, ..@!!?!..". To keep the band from playing all night long the party-animal Bajslock was hired to direct them through this jungle of fusion.
After the total success (the compact silence and nausea of the crowd) the band realized that this was not the end. They really wanted to keep this project alive. The bass player and guitarist changed to their original instruments. The bleeding fingers and brutal headaches was once again a part of their lives, Nevärlläjf had been born.
Now during 2007 after recording the first demo Åderb-Rock Nevärlläjf took part in a music-contest called Musik Direkt. Even though the opponents where really skilled musicians Nevärlläjf managed to win the first-prize in the genre of Jazz. The prize included two gigs, one at Sthlm Jazz-Festival and one at Sandviken Bangen Jazz-Festival. The gigs took place during summer 2007. During late autumn Nevärlläjf once again performed a couple of gigs, this time with other progressive bands like Hot Scandinavian Dirt and Beardfish, which was really fun!
The next thing on the Nevärlläjf agenda is the recording of another demo, this event will take place during early January. Hopefully the listener will be satisfied with what we´ve created and recieve a terrible headache:P
