About Me

Welcome

"Meshuggah meets Pink Floyd at a bar in East London during the 70's."
- fight-club.se

"The guitar-work is generally the strength of this band. The rhythm guitar ties everything together nicely and the lead melodies are the most impressive feature on this album as a whole. [...] Bass and drums are great in their execution and even though the drums are fairly advanced, they seamlessly flow with the melodies so that I have to listen specifically to single them out. That is what drums should do really – in most cases anyway."
- Adam Westlund, metal-observer.com

“When Dreams Subside is an album that keeps on growing for every time that I listen to it. What might seem unplanned the first time suddenly becomes clear and you realize how well concluded it actually is.”
- Niklas Larsson, plaskis.se

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: wearweareworkingonit.soon.dammit
Band Members: Current Members

Facts: Erik is the lead vocalist and the bassplayer of the band. He’s mad as a hatter(Duh, he managed to shave of all of his hair...), talks more than the Genie in Walt Disney’s version of Aladdin and his jokes are sometimes so bad that they make your ears drop. But, despite the fact that not even sleep can make him shut his mouth(Yes, he’s got an act for talking in his sleep) he’s totally into this band, and will do whatever it takes to put Cohobation among the old Titans of Metal!

Equipment: Fender American Deluxe P-Bass(5-string), Yamaha BB1500 Jazz Bass(4-String), Ampeg BA115 Amp and EBS MultiDrive(Distortion-pedal)

Influences: Marco Hietala(Nightwish/Tarot) Magnus Rosén(Ex. HammerFall) Geoff Tate(Queensr..che)and Bruce Dickinson(Iron Maiden)

Favourite albums: Opeth - Ghost Reveires, Queensr..che - Operation: MindCrime, Iron Maiden - Brave New World, Ayreon - Human Equation and Bruce Dickinson - the Chemical Wedding

Perversions: Falsettoscreamer bueno!

Facts: John is the “lead-and-rythm-guitarist”, as well as the “backup/sometimes-lead-vocalist”. Combining the speed and technique of John Petrucci toghether with the feeling for groove and rythm of such guitarists as Slash and Richie Sambora, John always manages to play the strangest riffs, strum the stretchiest chords and write the best vocal harmonies ever(Did I mention he’s a singer as well?). The fact that he listens to many different bands is what makes him strong as a songwriter, like in 17th of October for instance. When other bands had done a heavy Chorus, John wrote this sweet Jazz/Pop-chorus that you don’t expect to turn up. But once it does, it fits perfect and makes the song worth hearing.

Equipment: Schecter C-7 Blackjack, PRS Custom 22, Ibanez RG, Line6 PODxt Live, Dunlop Jazz III picks

Influences: Richie Sambora, Sugizo, John Petrucci, Daniel Gildenlöw, Uruha, John Frusciante, Mattias IA Eklundh, Arjen Lucassen, Tuomas Holopainen, Ville Valo, Paul Stanley, John Cooper

Favourite albums: John Frusciante - Shadows Collide with People, Nightwish - Oceanborn, Richie Sambora - Stranger in this Town, Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory, Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element, Skillet - Comatose

Perversions: J-Rockers... you gotta love 'em.

Facts: Anton is the drummer of the band. But, unlike some drummers, Anton plays his drums like an instrument and not like a machine. He listens to the riffs and vocal-lines, and when he adds his drumming to the song; it’s almost like a puzzle! Without this very piece, the whole thing wouldn’t work. He’s also the one who’s most keen with technology in the band, and it was Anton who mixed the first demo that the band released for Christmas 2006, learing a lot about programs like Cubase while doing it. Anton is, like John, a huge fan of the Japaneese culture and if, or hopefully it’s when, the band goes out on tour they’ll play in Japan. And if/when doing so it’s probbably best to put a leasch on Anton, or he’ll run away.

Equipment: Various Drumkits(Tama, Pearl etc.), Mapex double bassdrum-pedal
Influences: Jordan Rudess, Mike Portnoy and Akira Jimbo
Favourite albums: They change from time to time
Perversions:"Random Obsessions!"

Facts: Mattias is the one responsible for the lead and rythm-guitars. He’s a nice fella, but don’t get fooled by his calm looks, because underneath those kind eyes dwells a guitarist whose techniques were developed in the very Pits of Hell(Yes, he is, like the other guys in the band, a huge fan of Tenacious D) Like Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth, Mattias is able to make even the strangest riffs seem easy, and he’s also able to play solos that neither Yngwie nor Kirk would have dreamt of making up. Mattias is very calm, and he has got a great ear! When the others are showing eachother new Riffs and songs, Mattias has allready picked them up or picks them up extremely fast! He’s also great at playing the piano, and can, like Mr. Elfgren, play the accordion, so don’t get surprised if you’ll hear an accordion in a Cohobation-song someday.

Equipment: Epiphone Flying V, Marshall Amp, KORG Toneworks pedal
Influences: Yngwie Malmsteen, Kirk Hammett...
Favourite albums: all the metallica albums and alot more...
Perversions: Sponge-Bob SquarePants!!!!

Facts: Björn is the keyboardplayer of the band. More info later.

Equipment: KORG Triton LE

Influences: Lars Gullin, Jan Johansson, Hiromi Uehara, John Coltrane and Jordan Rudess

Favourite albums: Lars Gullin - Portrait of My Pals, Jan Johansson - Jazz på Svenska, Dream Theater - Images & Words

Perversions: Coffe Killer!(He loves his Coffee...)

Past Members :

Anton Britts - Guitars
Jimmy Johnsson - Drums
Björn Schultze - Lead & Rythm guitar
Thomas Nilsson - Lead & Rythm guitar

Influences: Proggish metal mostly... such as Opeth, Pain of Salvation, Ayreon, Dream Theater... but also good old-fashion metal like Iron Maiden and Tarot.
Sounds Like: 13 Wolverines attacking an 18-wheeler during midwinter, while John Petrucci, Mikael Ã…kerfeldt and Billy Cobham are jamming using pointy sticks!
Record Label: Unsigned
Type of Label: None
