Carina Freitas was born in Funchal (Madeira Island) in 18th August 1976. Participation in song festivals between 1985-2005 in Madeira. Between 1994 -2000 lived in Porto, studied at Oporto School of Medicine and joined the soprano class at the Classic Chorus of OrfeÃ£o UniversitÃ¡rio do Porto. Since 2003, she has been living in Lisbon, where she follows her medical education as a children and adolescent psychiatry trainee. Since 2004, she has been having singing lessons with Prof Maria Cristina de Castro.
