Goth Help Us-San Diegoâ„¢

"Goth Help Us" was founded in April 2006 in the United States and is a grassroots effort to help humanity. Our mission is to help the world realize that Goths are much more than different. We want to show the world that Goths are also compassionate, loving, artistic, and extremely caring people. We seek to change the stereotypes associated to the term "Goth" and show that there is great diversity and individuality within our subculture. We want to celebrate the differences and rejoice in the similarities of all people.
How do we intend to do this? By organizing as a collective of individuals and becoming involved in the local communities while preserving our own unique community within, and by helping other people. We seek to educate by example of what is best about humanity and to look outside of traditional dichotomies that cast people into molds of stagnant thinking.
What are we doing to make this reality? We are organizing blood drives. We are helping the homeless. We are helping fund animal shelters. We are helping to beautify our cities again. We are filling voids in people’s lives by providing time and interaction. We are helping each other and helping others. We want to spread peace and also stop the violence against Goths and other targeted subcultures, both old and new.
How do we do all of this? We collaborate with already well-established charitable organizations, such as The Red Cross, The Humane Society, and Habitat for Humanity. We provide volunteer services. We make donations and service pledges. We are NOT a charity. We are a humanitarian organization consisting of several chapter based volunteer action leagues.
Many people have asked us if we are a religious organization; the answer to that is no. It is true we are proponents of living a good life and doing good works and maintaining a community of ideals, but we are NOT a religious organization. We accept that there is room in this world for more than one point of view. We are not here to further divide each other but to instead bring us all together.
So let's show the world we DO matter, and that we ARE important. Join us if you'd like. We'd love to have you here.
If we all work together, we can make a difference and change this world for the better.

Look at GHU-San Diego's Black-Out Volunteer Walk that occurred December 2nd. This will become a regular quarterly event for Goth Help Us San Diego. We had over 30 Members show to clean up the community.

On January 27th, 2007 Goth Help Us San Diego conducted a City Sanctioned Beach Cleanup Event at South Mission Beach and Jetty. The turnout was excellent. Goths at the beach... No, it is not the end of days.

GHU-San Diego provided several volunteer "victims" for the November 18th CERT Disaster drills at the San Diego Fire Rescue Training Facility. The disaster simulation was based off of a magnitude 6.5 earthquake, and was exceedingly realistic.
