About Me

My name is Deany. I love my husband Chris (Retard of Darkness),our son Corbin, and our cat Pepper. My best friends in the whole world are Michelle(Gypsymullo,)Chrissy (Future Mrs. McCullough) and Annie (Just Me...Love Me or Hate Me). I am Goth, not because I need to justify my existence by belonging to a social label but because the proverbial shoe fits (apparently is a 7 1/2M; no I don't act my shoe size ;~P) and it saves wasted time trying to explain myself to sheeple who ask stupid questions to which they can't handle the answers. I love fashion but I'm not a label whore and I can't stand people who are walking billboards;ie people who wear clothes with the name of the designer plastered all over them. I am working on my TOEFL professional certification to teach ESL with Global TESOL College. I graduated from Grossmont College last Summer with a certificate and an A.A. in English and I will be attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City for the Fall 2008 semester, to earn a B.A. in English and English Lit. What do you do with a B.A. in English? Teach English, you twit! Also, I'm pregnant. Corbin Alexavier is due February 14th, 2008. For my loved ones who have expressed interest in knowing what I want here is a link to my amazon.com wish list. I know I'm hard to shop for, this is the reason I have gone through the trouble of creating this list. If you are considering buying me a gift please keep the following in mind. With the exception of books, I like things that are functional and pragmatic; in other words, things I can use frequently that do not just take up space. Although you might be tempted and it might be really cool, please do not buy me novelty items or nicknack's meant to sit on shelves and collect dust. For example, I like the Nightmare Before Christmas, but I'm not interested in all the useless products made with the theme, like stockings, dolls and wine glass tokens. If you buy them for me I will not use them. In edition, if I go on vacation, I am more likely to buy a pen, which can be used everyday and is refillable;as opposed to some gaudy bauble that will sit around not matching my decor. I do enjoy original, interesting pieces of art. Things I do not use or do not like are donated to thrift stores or re-gifted without prejudice making them a waste of your money and our time. Consider yourself warned.

My Interests

I enjoy learning new things in general.I'm a word nerd. I enjoy learning about the origins and history of words, phrases and languages. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, traveling, cooking and culinary anthropology, singing, yoga, fencing, thrift store and antique shopping and ballroom dancing particularly Swing. I want to learn to Tango and Zydeco. My favorite places to go are good restaurants, dancing, to the theater, museums, nature and just about any other cultural event. Also I thoroughly enjoy blowing bubbles.

I'd like to meet:

Intelligent, witty people, who are able to think for themselves, take a joke, handle the truth, and proud to be themselves. A list of people I don't want to meet would be easier. Sheeple need not apply.

Music:

I have eclectic tastes in music.I'm more interested in lyrics than music or genre. Live brass possesses me like the devil. So some of my favorite music is Afro Cuban jazz, ska, and big band. I also enjoy zydeco and bluegrass.font
