About Me

Alpha Noise Project is the collected creative force of lyricist/producer KEL, lyricist Jay Qwest, and DJ/producer Scizzahands. They are one of the most-talked about and anticipated acts coming out of the independent Atlanta hip-hop scene and put on a live show that shouldn't be missed.
Meeting through mutual friends from GA State when KEL was still in high school, he and Jay Qwest had an immediate connection musically and brought out a creative side in each other. At the time they met, Jay Qwest had already been grinding in the scene and had a mixtape that was recorded at a friend’s house. KEL, having stacks of notebooks filled with rhymes but no experience on a microphone, started to slowly climb out of his shell and develop a style. Buying a cheap drum machine and stealing his mother's records, KEL began to make beats and the two, along with DJ SquashNice, started performing around Atlanta under the name Usual Suspects
After being pushed on stage by Jay Qwest at a local battle in Atlanta, KEL quickly became addicted and, while Jay Qwest finished up his degree in film school, began making a name for himself in the Atlanta battle scene as a fierce competitor with witty punch lines and a sharp tongue.
Soon KEL began hosting his own battles called Words as Weapons, at the Somber Reptile, and met DJ's Dig and Scizzahands, and fellow mc's Ricky Raw, Cypher Linguistics, and Elemental Emcee. KEL, along with Dig, Scizza, Ricky Raw, and CL started Theory of Mind and quickly became one of the most sought after groups in the Atlanta area, playing with everyone from KRS-One to DRES the Beatnik to Collective Efforts.
When Jay Qwest finished up with school, the two decided to return the focus back to their music and along with DJ Scizzahands started Alpha Noise Project, choosing the name because they wanted to treat this group like the beginning.
They combine sample-driven beats with intelligent witty lyrics and a live show that never leaves the crowd bored. They are working on an album right now and hope to have it out before the summer of 07.

Big Ups to Lerch killing that cyber piece!!!
