About Me

..DJ Edu born and bred in Nairobi Kenya started Djing in 1992. In 1994 he joined the "Homeboyz" East Africa's leading mobile Disco which also boasts a production studio and Dj Acadamy. In 1999 He won the Kenya National Mixing and scratching Dj championships, making him the first ever national champ. In 2003 he was a chief judge to crown the new champ on an event that attracted over 10 000 party goers in Nairobi. He has also featured in a documentry on "The Entertainment Industry in Kenya" on British TV channels His ambition to go further with his Djing took him to Simba Salon (the Carnivore) a 5 star restuarant with a club that attracts clients from around the world like Papa Wemba, Awilo Longoma and local artists, promoters and sound engineers. He wanted a bigger challenge so he moved to the (UK) His Reputation soon got him a DJing gig at Club Safari in Forest Gate London , a club which was frequented by people from all corners of Africa. He then moved to Club Solid in Tottenham where he was Entertainment Manager/Dj."Sound" club was also a regular Djing Spot for Dj Edu where he played alongside the world renound Dj Kofi previously of the 'Hitmen' Crew. By this time he has worked with or Hosted parties for Artistes like Arthur 'King of kwaito'(SA) Mdu (SA) Gidi Gidi Maji Maji (kenya) T.I.D (TZ) Necessary Noize (Kenya) SEMA(Kenya) Nonini(Kenya) just to name a few. As for the (UK) scene, Dj Edu has been on a (Uk) Tour with London's Cassius Henry on the 1xtra Campus with the Punjabi Hit Squad as aDj and Music Consultant. To add to his belt Edu has hosted a show entitled "Hakuna Matata" an East African Show on G.FM radio (Internet) relating to music and current affairs in this Region. In 2004 Dj Edu was Honored By being given an award by the Kenyan Society as Kenyan Dj of the Year. Which brings us up to date with him being the Host of the D.N.A (Destination Africa) show on BBC's 1Xtra (digital/Internet Radio/Satellite) every Wednesdays between 12 and 2am. This show gives African Artistes the chance to get their songs played on air as well as being played in a never herd before way, with scratches cuts and mixes making DJ Edu's show Unique. He is an inspiration to young upcoming individuals in the musicIndustry and is still going on strong. He promises to continue to make us proud as Africans and he will keep on delivering to the fullest! DJ EDU thanks all who have and still are supporting him

Plymouth!

Hi,What a weekend I had this past Sunday I tell you. Had a gig in Plymouth so I got on to the train from Paddington - a normal 3 - 4 hr journey turned into a 6 hr journey coz of animals on the tracks....
