Zimbabwean born hip-hop artist Justin Russell – aka The Immigrant, Nino Brown, The General, Pretty Boy, Juss Russ, and Mos Wan’ned – grew up in his native Zimbabwe surrounded by poverty, corruption and crime. He even earned himself the name “Problem Child” for his mischievous behaviour. Determined to change and improve his life, Russ packed his bags and moved to the UK leaving his family behind. Juss Russ’ love for hip-hop music originated at an early age. His passion for music, song writing, performing and taking care of his family fuels his ambition and desire to succeed in this cutthroat industry.
“I have managed to cross all boundaries and obstacles that have come my way. I worked hard to release my first album ‘Hustle Paycheck’ which sold a lot copies in 2004 and 05.(Mos Wan’ned Records).” – Juss Russ
Juss Russ’ resilience and determination enabled him to create Mos Wan’ned Entertainment and The Immigants in early 2004. Mos Wan’ned Entertainment and The Immigants show no signs of slowing down and have already put forth Juss Russ’ freshman album “Hustle Paycheck” on the music map. From performing live at the Miss Zimbabwe UK 2006, Miss Afrique at Statford Rex, Miss Malaika, Club 19 and Pavillion to doing charity work for Hurricane Katrina 2005 victims, Juss Russ enjoys sharing his music with the masses.
Russ’ first video “Thunder Clap” which was released on Channel U showcased his talent as a performer on screen. The success of the song “Thunder Clap” raised The Immigrant’s profile, and was soon followed up by “Ready To Love,” which did exceedingly well. His new album “T.I.M.E{This Is Me Entertaining}” embraces a more personal side of Juss Russ’ life. His songs reveal his life as a young immigrant father trying to make ends meet in order to provide for his two young children.
