"Stately presence and crystalline delivery." -Boston Globe
"Lovely, strong voice." -Portland Press Herald, Portland, Maine
"Warm voice and easy natural lyricism. Moore's voice is attractively layered as she accompanies herself on tender fiddle, creating a sound that is at once warm and haunting." -Jim Lowe, Times Argus, Montpelier, VT
"Beautiful." -Tim Downy, WNCS The Point
"Full and open, ethereal...seems to come from another world. There is an old world quality to her songs, with a big twist. She is the real thing, and the truth and artistry of her music can be felt". -Amy Trafford, Writer, Montpelier, VT
Eliza Moore's unique sound stems from her diverse musical background. Rooted in the classical tradition, her overflowing melodic lines evoke the polyphony of Palestrina crossed with "minimalist accompaniment ala Philip Glass" (Times Argus, Vermont). Eliza received her training at the Guildhall School For Music and Drama in London, England where she developed her passion for world music and collaborative composition. As a fiddler and songwriter, Eliza has also played in numerous bluegrass and folk groups touring Ireland and much of Western Europe. Gaining inspiration from fellow musicians and her environment, Eliza has a fascination with arranging and rearranging her melodies according to the instrumentation available. In fact, Eliza's art thrives on travel and diversity, as it enables her to constantly re-invent her already eclectic style.
In 2003 Eliza released her first record "Simplicity" with NYC producer Scott Mann. She is currently in the studio recording her next solo album "Beauty in Mystery" with L.A. producer and internationally acclaimed jazz musician Deron Johnson. These days Eliza can also be found singing, playing and dancing around the stage with ambient punk band Swedish Radar.
