Consuleo del Pilar a soul queen with a huge voice and amazing stage presence. She writes her own material and feeds a lot of thought in to her lyrics. Her ability to mix styles and still make it sound soul makes her something extra.Consuelo comes from Ecuador and was adopted to Sweden at the age of seven. Consuelo grew up in Orebro where they joined the band Big Deal and the music industry at an early stage.Over the years, soul and classical gospel standards has continued to be a constant source of inspiration.After a couple of years of schooling when Consuelo attended the ballet academy and the upper secondary school's vocational training in "dance and show", she opted for dance music and started working with producer Nick Nice and Stonebridge, who offered her to record songs within a project called "Subterrania".One of the earliest recordings, "See the day", ended up on the SweMix/B-Tech EP "Going Back To Basics" as early as 1989 and became an underground hit in New York and London. A rerecording of this song has since then been licensed to Champion Records in London. "Subterrania" also recorded the song "What Can I Do", that ended up on the BTB Collection album "Urban Dance Songs Vol. II".With "Free'n Happy" and "Coosy Coosy", Consuelo was contracted by Sony Music during 1996-97 and toured Mexico, Germany and Finland. While at Atom records, Consuelo toured Sweden.Consuelo were currently working with Jan "Lounge"Lindberg at 2003 (Mauro Scocco, Sharon Dyall, Magnum Coltrane Price, Hanne Boel, Regina Lund, among others), writing new material for Antipole Records. This project has attracted some attention from players in the industry.Danish vocalist Hanne Boel has already licensed one of the songs for her upcoming album.Consuelo's first album is out on the market in Sweden and the rest of the world is awaiting the international release.In addition to her own projects Consuelo is also working with a music project for a Hollywood documentary film that will appear in 2008.
