RUSS BROWN AND SOUTHERN FRYED is back with an all new band! Russ would like to welcome Lead Guitarist and Steel Guitarist Bill Bailey, Bass player Eve Ashley, Guitarist (also western harp) Mike Riversong, and Drummer Paul "Guppy" Hansen. The instrumentalists are members of the former Ty and the Twisters. Russ was introduced to them by a mutual friend Pepie. The band will be releasing their performance dates in the very near future. Russ Brown is married to his junior high sweetheart and they have three children. He is a 1996 graduate of North Platte High School and currently serves fulltime with the Wyoming Air National Guard. In July 2004 Russ placed second in the local Colgate Country Showdown. That same month he won a singing contest at a local bar where he got to perform with the band Live Wire during Cheyenne Frontier Days. In December 2004 he performed with Kenny Bradberry after placing 3rd in another local competition. In May of 2005 Russ won the weekly contest at the Americas Rising Stars Country Competition in Seymour, TN. The following month he placed in the quarter finals qualifying him for the semi-finals before signing with Music City Network in Nashville. In November 2005 he recorded at studio 23 in Nashville for a record promotion. In 2006 Russ placed 4th in the Galaxy of Stars competition and was invited to go on tour in Nebraska in Summer 2007. In July of 2007 Russ and Southern Fryed were a huge hit during the Cheyenne Frontier Days day time entertainment shows drawing big crowds at each performance. Not only is he a singer but he also has many songs in his catalog that he has written. Russ is currently working with some of Nashville's industry members to get his songs published and out to other artists. Some his biggest influences have been George Strait, Merle Haggard, Kenny Chesney, Lynard Skynard and Chris LeDeux.
