About Me

I am currently one of the guitarists for the band Stone Cell. I've been playing guitar now for about 17 years. In those 17 years I've seen and done a lot of things ... played in big cities, done newspaper interviews, had reviews done on my music, had a song appear on a Top 10 Countdown, done radio interviews and heck, even auditioned for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993. I was originally the rhythm guitarist for a band named Stone Ambition which was formed 1991 in the wonderful town of Cheyenne, WY.

In 1994 a move to Kansas City was a must after a minor label there loved our original music. We played with the likes of Flux, Graven Image, Puddle of Mudd and many other bands while in Kansas City and had some success doing it. We released our only album in December of 1995 titled The Closing Sky (we are currently working on our second album as we speak). Go to www.myspace.com/stoneambition for more on my old band.

After my oldest son was born, I decided to take a break from music. 10 years later, thanks to the nudging and pushing of family and friends (thanks Deena and Spunker) I got back into the music scene when Stone Cell asked me to play guitar for them. Let me tell you what, I was a little overwhelmed at first, because like I said, I was used to writing my own stuff and then I joined a band that wanted me to learn other peoples stuff. One thing about 80's metal. You can make fun of it all you want, but man, those guitarists were and still are absolutely amazing. Having to learn how to play leads like that was quite a daunting task, but it has made me a better musician overall.

Stone Cell is a 70's, 80's, 90's metal cover band, I know, all of you metal heads are calling us sell outs, but here is how I look at it. We are getting booked and booked quite often and that is what matters. We are playing. Now granted the venues are only a few to speak of because of the fear that the clubs have in this town for booking Hard Rock bands, but we are getting booked and we are helping get the Metal scene back into the limelight in Cheyenne. Eventually we will start writing our own material and then that will take precedence over our cover tunes, but for now we are playing music and once again, that is what matters. After being out of it for 10 years, there is nothing more I could ask for.

I have been together with the love of my life Deena for 15 years now. We have 2 beautiful, healthy and over hyper children ... Kyhler and Jadyn. They all give me the motivation to keep playing my music and I play for them as my family is my strength and my inspiration. My love Deena is the most incredible mother, friend and person I have ever known. She is the hardest working person I know and I can only hope that my children grow up with her strength and desire for life. She is what drives me to succeed in my life at everything I do. Without her strength ... I would have none.

Sounds Like: I don't like to say I have one particular sound. But the one thing I've always been complimented on is the crunch sound I produce from my guitars. I've always had that deep Metallica crunch, crunch that has tone and depth to it. Not to death metal and not to weak, just the flat out metal crunch.
