About Me

So I figured I should update this about me section since things have changed so much. Ok, yes, Meagan is back in school again. However, let me just say that I am going at it full force (full time) and there will be no more interrruptions. That's right, I'm not stopping until I am a liscensed social worker, perhaps Master's level. Not gonna lie though, it really sucks working full time and going to school full time. I have no life...at all!! Ah, but when the schooling is over and the job pays me better I will be able to pay off all of these school loans I am racking up and that will make me happy :). The job and attempting to impact and ultimately change the world will be pretty nice too.So I need creativity back in my life when I can squeeze the time in for it. It's amazing just how cut off I feel from my "past life" of music and theater. I guess I just have to take pride in the fact that I make the attempt at making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities through work and school, and that when I have my shit together I will get back to it. I hate getting old.span gig="ya"

My Interests

I love spending time with kids, people with developmental disabilities, and animals. I like to give some of my time and attention to people that tend to be overlooked by society because of people either being afraid or ignorant. I have a past that includes some theater and singing, and really need to get into that again soon!

I'd like to meet:

Oprah, I know it sounds cliche, but she does so much for so many people and is an inspiration to me. We also have a similar history. Oh yeah, and on myspace...fuckin cool, real people. I'd like to meet anybody with an interesting story to tell or can just carry on intelligent conversation. I'm a very liberal and open minded person, and will debate with people to see my side, though I respect other's opinions and arguments as well, even if I am right :) I don't think one can ever have too many friends though, so there's no better place to find them than here!

Music:

I love punk! Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of good shows around here in CT, but overall I have a very eclectic music taste from Jazz, to rock, to some hip hop. I haven't been to a good show in forever.

Movies:

I love all kinds of movies, and have a brother who is a budding filmmaker who will hopefully get me my big break someday :)

Television:

Family Guy is so wrong that it is right. I need my weekly dose of humor so as not to take the world too seriously. Aqua teen hunger force is pretty out there too. I also like cheesy lifetime stuff too.

Books:

Whatever is on the syllabi for the semester, these days social work, aging and health, and american government books. Oh yeah, you are jealous!
