Magic Island Records – music for balearic people
General :
Magic Island Records is a sub division of Shah–Music, a company with great skills in the music industry, with different labels, a publishing and a recording studio. Magic Island records was founded in 2005 by Roger P. Shah aka DJ Shah to have a platform for his hidden love of balearic and tribal music.
The Man Behind :
DJ Shah is one of this years most furoring producers and DJs. With more than 250 releases in over 60 countries and spots in numerous charts, Shah has become a settled name over the years. Besides many other deals he's the only German producer who has signed five projects to Blackhole and Armada only and is actually remixing some of the world's leading acts. DJ Shah remixed many great artists in the past. Armin Van Buuren, The Thrillseekers, Cosmic Gate, System F or Josh Gabriel are just a few acts he was working for. But his summer 2006 remix roster is really massive. Whilst most producers and DJs spent their summer on the world's party islands, Shah just took on a few international gigs to concentrate on his productions and remixes. Envio, Solarstone, Lost Witness, Johan Gielen, The Nomads, Mark Norman and last but not least Tiesto feat. Maxi Jazz are the latest names on his huge remix agenda as well as labels like Vandit, Blackhole, Armada or Ministry of Sound.
Artist's and Production :
There are a lot of high quality and outstanding releases and artists with a unique and moody sound. The majority of the productions and releases are produced by Shah himself in collaboration with the Magic Island Artist's and DJ's.
Also the well known DJ and producer DJ Cosmo who was responsible for a lot of big crossover hits all over the world found his new home and new sound under the top of the Magic Island family. DJ Cosmo's debut on Magic Island will be a new version of the big Joi Cardwell hit "Soul to Bare".
Ralph Miller is known for his pumping sound with tribal influences. Shah & Miller have been together in Ibiza last year and discovered that they love the same style of balearic music. Back in Germany they've been in Shah's studio and created the Ralph Miller single "Clear Blue Water".
Brian Laruso is one of Shah's long time friends and both have done a lot of productions together, also the well known "Global Experience" project which was signed straight to Blackhole Recordings, the label of Tiesto! Brian's first release was an EP with total different tracks and Brian Laruso as a DJ plays a wide range of different genres in his sets.
Shah's Sunlounger project was produced by him for a Magic Island release but Armin van Buuren has heard the track and signed it for his own Armind label. The first single "White Sand" was one of the summer hits 2006 and hammered all over the world by a lot of top DJs and the follow up single "Aguas Blancas° is going to be a much bigger hit than the first single. Shah is currently working on a album for next summer.
