Island grown from the West Coast of Canada, Zara hit the dance music scene in 2005 with her soft and smooth summer vocal hit “No Why†released on Deep Dish ’s label Yoshitoshi . It was the singer’s first of many releases with world renowned DJ and producer Sultan . Since then Zara has been spreading her heartfelt melodies around the globe with live performances, popular releases such as “Be With You†on Pornostar Records and several compilation appearances including Miss Nine ’s “Yoshitoshi Ibizaâ€, Sultan’s “Yoshitoshi Montreal†and Tommyboy ’s “JustMusic003â€.
Although Zara got a successful start with her first few releases in the progressive house scene, it now goes to show she is no music elitist. She love's to dance and lives to sing to a wide variety of genres and passionately takes on whatever production inspires her. Recently, Zara began collaborating with the talented trance producer, DJ Shah. Their first release together, "Crawling" on Shah's latest album "Sunlounger- Another Day on the Terrace" (Armada), was a soaring success as the album quickly hit top 10 on the dance charts in most European countries and came in as the 1 downloaded album on iTunes Holland. With an incredible response to their first song, Zara and Shah continue to work together with new tracks to be released this year.
Also on the calendar for the New Year will be the much anticipated Shinichi release of "Let's Get Physical", a Sultan & Ned Shepard cover featuring Zara. So far, this banging track has been dropped by none other than Sultan and Sharam and has been the highlight on many dance floors around the world .
Now residing in Vancouver, Zara is in her studio writing and recording and getting ready for her next shows. With banging new electro-house hits to haunting belearic-trance classics, this versatile chanteuse shows anything can be expected and much is to be anticipated.
