About Me

I have been drawing and painting since I was a little girl. If you are interested in purchasing a 8 x 10 signed print or an original painting please note me with the title of the painting and state if you want a print or original . Prices with prints and originals may vary on availability of the print and the size of the original painting or drawing. Right now I am doing a lot of digital art and soon I hope to start painting again. All of my photo manipulations are made in Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop. I get the stock photos from www.deviantart.com unless it is from my own stock collection. I make all my own brushes to add hair, flowers, sparkles and moons. It is just a fun hobby for me. I also make jewelry and handmade masks with feathers, beads and sequins. I glue the handmade masks onto my paintings for that masquerade look. I also like to write poetry.
Here is some of my digital art.

I am so honored to have my artwork on the CD cover for DeMarco The CD is called "Angel Face" It explores the death, journey, and resurrection of the modern-day poet. It is an awesome CD! Brian DeMarco is accompanied by his wife Lisa Gridley. Both of them are so talented and harmonize together so wonderfully.
Angel Face by DeMarco
I have painted the 12 signs of the zodiac with acrylic paint on paper. They are old paintings. It is my own interpretation. I do not draw men so well so all of the signs I have painted are feminine. Prints are available with all zodiac signs.

My Poetry

WHEN YOU WANT TO BE YOURSELF

When you want to hold a dream,
make it reality.
When you want to fly in the sky,
take wing.
When you want to harmonize,
sing.
When a child is crying,
sing.
When you want to take charge,
be the instagater.
When your bones are tired,
sleep.
When you are hungry,
eat.
When you feel lonely,
confide.
When at night you are frightened,
hide.
When you don't know where to go,
just drive.
When you think it's over,
survive.
When you want to be yourself,
be yourself.
When you want to be free,
be free.
When you want to be someone else,
be yourself to be free!

PIXIES AND FAIRIES

Pixies strum and blow
beguiling music yet amusing
fife, fiddle, and little piccolo
toward mortal ears, be soothing
Fairies chant and croon
ravishing tune, yet ensnaring
mushrooms, blossoms, and white moon
toward eventide shall be prancing

PURPLE ORCHIDS

Oh give to me purple orchids from the woodlands nearby.
I shall put them in my hair and stand upon an a mountain way up high.
I see an ocean down below.
Make a wish and watch purple orchids flow
toward a royal blue sea,
'tis only then my dreams become reality.

WAITING FOR A RAINBOW

I can hear low spirited cries among turbulent winds. I feel throbbing rain that falls like grieving tears. I touch blatant thunder and tremble. I capture penetrating lighting within my somber eyes. I become blind, castaway in darkened clouds beyond a moonless horizon I long for the dawn to be revealed. Tempest seems everlasting. I am waiting for a rainbow that doesn't need a pot of gold. In time storm will pause. Sky is soundless and my soul is silent. Billows that come are silver and white. I capture a beautiful rainbow with clarion sight.

BUTTERFLY WINGS

Oh thy sweet maiden thou hast butterfly wings.
Doth thee soar when northern cardinal sings?
Thou hast seen azure welkin, full and pure, take wing.
Adhere tolling bells beneath thy feathers that winds shall bring.

EXPRESSION

What we have,
is it an expression of ourselves?
The car we drive,
is it what you need or an expression of wealth?
Even with all the gold and diamonds you own
in a crowded room you are standing alone.
When I look at the expression on your face,
your eyes and smile
are veiled behind black lace.
No one sees what you have inside,
only the wealth that you could never hide.

THE STATUE

Stand there like a statue with nothing to say.
Cold is the stone in ones heart of decay.
To embrace emotions and let go of sobbing tears is like getting blood from a crimson rose.
Poised is the statue upon cinder blocks amidst a flower garden.
Silent is the tongue with lips of plaster.
Blind are the eyes with sheets of cement.
Passion and desire, trapped and barren as concrete pours in a callus mold.
When the statue was set and dry it would stand there with nothing to say.
can not feel,
can not love,
can not touch soft skin and discover dreams held within
when there's a heart of stone that craves to beat inside,
the statue that stands alone.

YOU ARE MORE TO ME

You are more beautiful than wings of a thousand butterflies, soaring in a heavenly blue sky.
You are more delightful than flutes and violins, playing lullabies in charismatic winds.
You are more fascinating than vibrant hues painted in a fresh sunset.
You are more to me than anyone of beauty.

GALLANTRY

Gallop with my stallion where it is unscathed.
Don't distress about me, I have kept my saber close at hand.
Forest shall protect thee.
No one to hear my feet upon the bladed grass.
I shall camouflage among the darkness,
beneath a black onxe sky,
Where solders are hunting for me, yet passing me by.
Why are the Calvary after me,
is it because I won't join their blood thirsty army?
For within I take no revelry upon the slaughtering of any innocent family.

WHO ARE YOU FIGHTING WITH?

Battling in your dreams,
even though wars are over.
Who are you fighting with,
is it yourself?
Heaving against walls of despare.
Hitting nothing but insipid air.
For what are you raging about?
Have you strayed from the sound tracks within your mind?
Has your life fallen between the cracks?
Why don't you nurture thyself anymore?
Who are you fighting with,
face in the mirror?
A reflection of discouragement stares back.
Stricking the glass,
pieces fall upon the dusted floor.
Serrated edges lacerate your fingers.
Is it to late to find contentment,
when a heart is bleeding inside?

LOVE

Love so smothered in joy
yet behind all joy hides a tear

Love begins in unexpected passion
ending in sorrowful pain

Love so close to despise someone
yet mysteriously no one can understand

one day in love
the next in hate
Love so romantically magical
yet romance fads and steals the magic away

WILL-O-THE-WISP

Water cresses and blue eyed grasses
engulfing salty marshland
Lilly pads waft within the clammy lagoon
cattails broaden from mudflats

dankness in the darkness
oh will-o-the wisp
will-o-the-wisp

Dragonflies and ladybugs ascend
in murky vapors
velvet silvery catkins cradle in swamplands
miasma haze glissades above the pond

dankness in the darkness
oh will-o-the-wisp
will-o-the-wisp

ANGELIC FLOWER
written for my sister AMY

I can see the ocean in your eyes,
An azure blue without the tide.
You kept the sunrise in your smile,
a ray of sunshine that started as a child.
An umbrella protects from the storms of evil.
A shower of innocence rains upon you
as an angelic flower begins to bloom.

I recognize the sparkle in your eyes,
a shooting star that fills the sky.
Palm of your hand captures the moon.
May all your dreams become reality so very soon.
A guardian angel lights a pathway for what is new.
As you awaken to touch the morning dew,
know that I will always love you.

MAGNOLIAS IN THE FOUNTAIN

I saw a sunny day, sky transparent with not a cloud.
Emerald was the grass.
Fragrant wild flowers perfume the air.
Up from the ground snapdragons appear.
I stroll along the pathway.

I looked down and saw reflections,
magnolias in the fountain.

I saw a sunny day, dandelion seeds cascade through the wind.
Hummingbirds flutter from flower to flower. Daffodils dance in the earth. Leaves sway as if to wave to the heavens.
I looked down an saw reflections,
magnolias in the fountain

I saw a sunny day, self illuminating central star.
Rosebuds in anticipation to bloom.
Robins gather twigs to make a nest.
as aspens flourish in the breeze.

I looked down and saw reflections,
magnolias in the fountain

OUR LAST GOODBYE
I LOVE YOU ALWAYS
MY PRECIOUS GRANDMA
REST IN PEACE

Close by your bed I endure.
Your warm oppressive hand I embrace.
Your face so gaunt,
skin so innocent white.
You cry,
my heart bleeds for your pain
as the creases of your face fills with glass tears.
I wish I could take this suffering away.
Your entangled in sickness no one on earth can restore.
Stagnant I still stand,
watching you hurt.
Extending my head towards you,
I kiss you in reverence.
I love you so invariably.
I leave you as you remain in sleep,
saying I love you and
a simple goodbye.

Days away so early in the morning, before sun had reached the sky.
Time paused...
Your last breath taken away.
Your source of life stopped beating.
Though you were blind,
eyes closed forever.
Pink flesh turned cold white.

I, you leave behind in sorrow,
will always remember our last goodbye.

ANGELIC WOODLAND
Written for my sister

Trees veiled by emerald velvet
Sunflowers endlessly trimmed in gold
Forever lilies of white lace shall flourish
upon rich bronze soil
with no weed
nor thorn
or moss
upon lakes and rivulets
of untainted waters
For air is unruffled
yet merciful winds
carry the angel's song
within this angelic woodland
sacred melodies shall always prolong

EVERLASTING IRIS
written for my mom

Just as the iris in full bloom
shows beauty
so does your love.
As the petals open,
I open my heart to you.
Just as the sword shaped leaves
reach up from the ground,
so you reach out for others in care.

Unlike the iris it may
wilt and die
but your compassion
and love lives on forever.
Which becomes the everlasting iris
that will always remain in my heart.

CHRISTINE KISSED THE FIRE

Christine kissed the fire
burnt by his desire
waiting for the day that he would go away
stalked her ever move what did that prove
sanity caught in a cinder
what happened to the winter
Field of dreams in flames with a pyro that sparked in games
A touch on the skin will smolder
must you always look over your shoulder
Who will fan the inferno in your veins
Who will save you when it rains
Christine watch yourself
do you need some help
Blow out the match
door of life will unlatch
Taste of freedom nearby
temptation melts inside
Set free the bonfire in your sky
Christine kissed the fire
burnt by his desire
waiting to escape boiling water
heat got to her
Watching dusk to dawn
another night of burning is gone
Walking on hot coals that kindles within the soul
Feel the heat rising
forbidden lust to tantalizing
Time is fading as the wind is changing
A forest is dying
you are left crying
Christine watch yourself
do you need some help
Blow out the match door
of life will unlatch
Taste of freedom nearby
temptation melts inside
Set free the bonfire in your sky
Christine kissed the fire
burnt by his desire
Passion to close to the sun
Try to look in the eyes of a different one
Tame the flame
Water the spirit
Drown the shame
Only a little while will the smoke remain
Whip the soot from your eyes
singe away his petty lies
Heart still beats without someone
scolding obsession will overcome the fervent pain
Christine put out the fire
and found the winter to put out the fire

HELPLESSNESS

In memory of my dad,
JOHN C. VOSS 1936-1993

I try to understand why I will never hold your hand again. Why last time I hugged you, you couldn't hug back. I would speak to you with gentle words. Your lips were silent as life support sustained your breathing.

Helplessness oh helplessness

I try to prepare myself, I wasn't ready to watch you die. You stared at a pasty ceiling, while your hands were glued to the side. There was nothing I could do to help you pull through and life support did nothing for you.

Helplessness oh helplessness
is all I felt when I touched your skin, cold as a marble floor Yet your chest was warm where your heart was once beating.

IN MEMORY OF YOU

In memory of you church bells ring
with Psalter hymns the choir shall sing
songs of peace and all the love they will bring
shall set my heart at ease

In memory of you, silver doves take wing
with dulcet melodies the birds shall sing
songs of tranquility and all the zeal they will bring shall set my heart at ease.

IN A ROOM OF SILENCE

Only God knows the time of death
and frailty upon the heart
that stops beating
eloquent voices become whispers
breath is weak
in a room of silence every minute seems to be an hour
yet outside the world goes on
as a loved one passes away
in a room of silence

MY OWN POTPOURRI

When my eyes
capture a red rose
I think of you
I treasure every flower
you have given to me
with burgundy petals
I have made my own potpourri

UNSEEN WINDS

where winds shall be unseen
yet always felt on a sailor
with no coat

Dust doth blow through meadows
oh to sway blossoms of marigolds
branches of cypress and oak
whisper amongst a merciful breeze

Where winds shall be unseen
yet always felt within hands of an ocean
a gust cradles thy boat

PEACOCKS

sapphire blue
viridian green
with a boarder of
golden wisp eyes
feathers spreading
like a crescent moon
for the whole
world to see
peacocks
in all their glory

THE MUMMER

Painted in white pantomime
with a code of silence
trapped in an invisible box
crowds watch in amazement
the mummer in disguise
merrymaker
of all
festivals and carnivals

KISS UPON WAVES

A splash of cerulean blue
through waters mist
woven amongst the tide
a dolphin appears
to kiss upon waves
enfolding whitecaps
for a split second
basking in the sun
without leaving a trace
vanishing below
the ocean's embrace
when will a dolphin
kiss upon waves
to graze amongst the
tides crest and
bath beneath the sun
once again

I AM AFRAID

I am afraid to get to close
that I may reveal
what I am feeling inside.
Might I say wrong words
hurting you forever?

I am afraid to search for love,
that once I find it,
it may vanish forever.

I am afraid to show myself
that you may not
love me
for who I really am.

I am afraid.

BENEATH A CORAL SEA

Beneath a coral sea
where beauty might be
fish swim aimlessly
beyond sight of thee

Above a coral sea
where clouds are billowy
seagulls hover steadily
beyond perception of thee

Along side of a coral sea
where seashells are crowned elegantly
woven above thy shore endlessly
maybe beyond sight of thee

beneath a coral sea
where beauty will always be

EYES OF GLASS

Looking in your eyes
unable to see
beyond all feelings
eyes filled with pain
fogged up in sorrow
capturing
an unknown reason
inside

Smear the mist away
releasing agony of
sadness piercing your heart
Gazing in your eyes
once again
I see transparent glass
visions of love and tranquility
shall remain
forever
behind the eyes of glass

ZEPHYR FROM ZION

She kneels down to pray
beseech from the heavens
wash the sins away
bring to light your guardian angel
forsake all immoral thoughts
hasten from the decadence
return back to innocence
she whips under her eye
her tears are know barren
inside waiting for a reason why
time for a conversion
it is now you decision
she runs from the tabernacle to the hill
ascending down blows a zephyr from Zion
while the earth stands still in Jerusalem
she kneels back down to pray
as her sins are washed away.
