BIOGRAPHY:The first idea of the establishment of the band, had Evangel “Rotting†from the thrash metal band DIES IRAE (Gre.), with Jim “Hellslaughter†in May ’94, in Kalamata, while earlier the first two members were joined by two other musicians to complete the creation of the band. During the year after it’s formation, the band succeeded to give a lot of concerts & interviews and had been favourite to most people and friends. In July ’96 the band released the first demo, that wasn’t a studio recording as usual, but a 45’ min. live-tape, recorded at their concert on 20.07.96., at the bounds of the “2ND
MEETING OF MUSIC BANDS†in Kalamata.
In that live tape, the band shows it’s faculties playing atmospheric black metal in the vein of VENOM, TIAMAT, old-NECROMANTIA.
From then, many fanzines & compilations were interested in the band. (Hail to thee…)
Worse times appeared in August ’96 when Alexandra and Hellslaughter left the band, the second provisionally for military engagements. For about Evangel and Deathless King, left Kalamata later, to stay in Patras for studies in the university.
After a lot of difficulties in Patras, Evangel met new members who were interested in the band; afterwards, the new
line-up started to elaborate new mature stuff , songs, destined for their second M.CD, that was planned to be recorded in Summer of ’97.
In January ’97 all the members, except Evangel, left the band each one for personal reasons.
A month later, Evangel met Nosferatu, (Keys, synth) with who he continued to work out the songs for the second demo of the band, and later with the addition of the session musician Queen Eresquigal. (Female echoes)
In June ’97 UNHOLY THRONE recorded in Patras, 4, from 8 new songs, that constitute their second release, called “Dark litanies through the crimson glassâ€,an extremely professional work for this season. Great sample of true, occult black metal, with influences from MORTUARY DRAPE, DARKTHRONE, BURZUM and…MORTIIS…

With the crossing of time, in April ’98 the scenery in the fields of unholiness changed superlative!
The band obtained two new musicians, Angel of death (Guitars)
and Tho (Drums, percussion), while Queen Eresquigal departed from the band.
UNHOLY THRONE left their older songs and started to elaborate new songs. Mighty example of extreme black metal, destined for live appearances and prospective recordings.
After a successful live appearance, planed on 22.08.98. in Kalamata, with the exception of the bad-organized conditions, in September ’98 the band recorded in Patras two new songs from their upcoming debut CD, primary destined for labels and minor for sale.
It was the third release of the band, named “Underflesh†promo CD ’98 / 7'' E.P, a very successful release full of maturity and hopes! Well, the line-up was the following: (Names alphabetical)

Afterwards, Nosferatu left the band and a more professional musician, Alexandra, took his position with effectuality.
In October ’98, the addition of a second guitarist, Alien,
was a fact!
We couldn’t forget the most successful live appearances of
UNHOLY THRONE till now;
The first realized in 28.03.99. in Patras while the band supported
ROTTING CHRIST and the second appearance accomplished in 26.04.99., where the band supported SEPTIC FLESH.
The response of the public was spectacular!
At the same time there were realized a lot of radio and television interviews. From then, the band continued assertive on live appearances.
In Autumn of ’99, a new member called NECROSIS (Guitars) joined the band, while earlier ANGEL OF DEATH had left the band to study abroad. The band continued giving a lot of concerts, in Patras, in Athens, e.t.c., with attention and success!
UNHOLY THRONE took part at the most important black metal festivals in those years. Many concerts accomplished with
UNHOLY THRONE as headliners!

In April ’00, the band published the fourth release, called
“…Under the Evil glance of the pale moonâ€. The songs of the CD were recorded live by a concert of the band in 22.04.00.,in Patras, while they were supporting SEPTIC FLESH for a second time!
Through that release, the band proves its self-confidence and its convenience playing 5 new individual songs & covers on songs of SAMAEL, MOONSPELL, DIMMU BORGIR and SLAYER!!!
With the crossing of time, it was proved that the fourth release of the band was the most interesting. Many magazines & broadcast criticized it as…excellent!
Afterwards, the band took part in the biggest black metal festival in Athens that year, (05.11.00) playing with bands like
CARPATHIAN LORDS, DARK VEIN,
LOST PROPHESY, e.t.c.
The most important (!) fact in the fields of unholiness, became true in 01.06.01., when the band supported…MAYHEM
in Greece!!! No comment…Chaos! It was an honor for the band to support the oldest black metal band on the planet…
In Autumn of ’01, Alexandra and Alien left the band, definitely
without the existence of replacement.
Although, the band continued the rehearsal of the songs in the studio.
In Autumn of ’02, two new serious musicians joined the band,
Antreas (Synth) and Erebus. (Guitars)
Few months later, Antreas left the band for personal reasons;
Ekati took his place with effectuality.

Afterwards, they released a split CD with the death metal band of PATH, which had a great success to the underground wave all over the world, like the next release of the band, called ‘’Crossing the path of unholiness’’, which were the greatest songs that the band had collected.
Besides, in Spring of ’03, a great black metal festival in Patras was organized, with UNHOLY THRONE as headliners, with athenian support bands like, VIA SERPENTIS, UNHOLY RITUAL, RAVENCULT, e.t.c. (Hail to thee…)
In the Summer and Autumn of ’03, the band took part in two successful black metal festivals in Athens.
During 2005 - 2006 almost all the band members had to serve the army, so the band had to be inactive for a particular period of time.
In 2007 the band took action again, after the departure of their 2nd guitarist Erebus, who joined the band of Ravencult and with the return of Nation (ex-Hellslaughter).
Afterwards, UNHOLY THRONE, begun the cooperation with Dark Angel Promotion, starting a mini tour in the winter of 2008 making a start from Thessaloniki and ending up in southern cities of Greece.
