About Me

Scott began his adventure in music at the age of 6, plunking out melodies on his Mother's piano. Soon after, his Grandfather introduced him to guitar and opened the door to even more vehicles for his creative expression. At age 9, Scott was introduced to the world of drums through the school band. From the humble beginnings of a generic sparkle blue snare drum, Scott learned the techniques and styles he would later apply to drumset in a very musical and expressive way. At age 13, Scott began playing in church musical presentations and attracted the attention of local gospel producers in the Hattiesburg/Laurel, MS area and began his first foray into session playing and the dreaded "click-track." As his playing evolved, so did his favored genre. Inspired by drummers such as Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen, Tommy Lee, Cozy Powell, Alan White and some of the more influential rock drummers of the time, as well as highly inventive jazz drummers like Joe Morello, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Elvin Jones, Rich and Krupa, Scott soon found himself recruited by "garage-rock" bands. All of these experiences added the hot sauce fire and aggressive bite to an already stylistic performer. At the age of 19, Scott was recruited by Biloxi, MS band Suspect and embarked on his first regional tour. After 6 years of touring/recording with Suspect and a massive shift in the music industry, Suspect disbanded. In the winter of 1999, Scott followed his dream to the bright lights of Las Vegas, NV where he was soon picked up by Reason 101 recording artist Stevin Knight and BeatFarm Producer, Mark Matson. In addition, he became a sought after session drummer on recordings ranging from "synth-pop" to industrial rock to straight ahead rock and everything in between. Scott is now an accomplished musician with credits on several recording projects and many years of touring experience under his belt with such acts as Suspect, Roulette, Tattoo Shoppe, Altar Boyz, Benny and the Jets, Stevin Knight, Sweetest Infection, Demigod and Highwire to name a few. Scott has played all over the U.S. and Europe and has, most recently, provided the powerhouse backbone for 80's & 90's hard rock tribute Rockaholics, Alice Cooper Tribute "Billion Dollar Babies" and Indie recording artists Wholenotherissue. Scott is currently teaching several up-and-coming drummers in the Las Vegas, NV area while playing regular studio sessions, clinics and fill-in dates for several acts such as Black Electricity, Black Valentines, Valhalla, Outlaws 89.Scott uses the following products exclusively: • Tama Drums and Hardware • Sabian Cymbals and Accessories • Evans DrumheadsMedia Kits and wallpapers are available upon request.
