Sounds Like: Vocally, Matt sounds EXACTLY like himself!!! His vocals have improved tremdously in the past few years owing mainly to LOTS and LOTS of gigs and a strong desire to improve! Guitar wise, Matt is most often compared to the late great Roy Buchanan, which he considers a HUGE compliment. Although you might not hear much of that influence on these tracks, it is much more apparent when hearing Matt play his Fender Telecaster LIVE!!! "West Texas Rain" was written in early 2002 and this version was recorded in Dec. 2004 on George McLain's 4 track Sony digital machine in about an hour. "Big Daddy" was recorded in the audio control room of the TV station Matt worked at in early 2000. The lead guitar track is just one take. The song actually has lyrics but for various reasons it got turned into an instrumental that day! "Alone, In The Lone Star State Tonight" was written just after moving to Austin in early 2001. This was recorded at Alta Vista Studios in Austin, March 2003 w/ Dave Connolly on background vocals. The new one just added is a song originally recorded by 'The Band' called "It Makes No Difference", this is basically just a live demo recording! Be sure to check out the new live videos of Matt singing STYX's "Suite Madame Blue" and Procal Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale". Click "VIDEOS" above to watch them, Enjoy!!!
