About Me
Rugkutta sound system is a group of friends, djs and producers based in the midlands UK. We are all dedicated party heads that were engulfed by the deep house free party scene. These events were put on every weekend at various sites (forest clearings, quarries or warehouses) mainly by DiY, Smokescreen and Babble sound systems.
We have a good attitude towards the music we play, as long as it..s good, the people will like it and it will make them dance then we will play it. We have not pigeon holed our self to just house music, we also have a very good collections of old and new disco, soul, funk, hip hop, classics, electronica and chill out, making our events a mystical journey into time, space and music. We aim to bring people a party they will remember and talk about with there friends, so we use all the contacts we have made over the many years of involvement in the scene, and the even greater numbers of parties we have attended to bring quality djs producers and live acts to our events.
Since rugkutta was started in 2000 we have accumulated lights, backdrops, a van and about 12 k of sound system which we have used to make parties and festivals across the UK and CZ and we have been actively involved in the party and club scene since the mid 90s. Projects work on by us either as a group or individually include quadrant sound system UK & CZ, Rebound (The Lost Weekend Nottingham), Rebound (Radost FX Prague CZ), Bingo (Mecca Prague CZ), Mella Yella festival (Bardny Lincolnshire), kopr (Telc, CZ), The Brewer fest (somewhere in the Lincolnshire Woulds), Sunday sessions (The Jolly Brewer Lincoln), Mashed Musik (club Nomad Leicester) Notts landing (The Ballroom, Nottingham), Groovertarium (Lazers, Lincoln), The Future club (Derby), Think Tank (Leeds), Bar None (Notingham), The Archess (London) The Bomb (Nottingham) the legendary Roxy (Prague), Perpetuum (Brno), Also we have played records in Slovakia, Romania, France, Poland, Sweden, USA, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Prague, Brno, Gothenburg, Krakow, Bratislava, Sheffield, San Francisco, San Jose and not to forget Lincoln. Spreading our party vibes to as many people as possible.
