Over the last several years Matthew Brian has been a driving force
behind Kansas City's thriving House scene through DJing, event
promotion and music production. Recently relocated to San Diego, Matt
has been mixing House records for over 14 years, gaining an early
appreciation of the rhythm & intricacies of House music as he
consistently hammered dance floors throughout the SE quarter of the
country. Through his involvement with Deepfix Records and their
world-class weekly event Frisky, Matt heard more House records a week
than most DJs hear in months. This heavy saturation of House music
found its way into the studio and Matt quickly began cranking out some
seriously impressive tracks drawing inspiration from the stacks of
vinyl he'd stock at Deepfix and the Frisky sets of heavyweight DJs
like Derrick Carter, Luke Solomon, Brett Johnson & way too many more
to name. With the overwhelming success of the Cueball & Hustler EP on
his own Edible Grooves label (which pairs him with another Kansas City
legend Pat Nice with a remix from UK man-of-the-hour Lee Mortimer),
Matt realized the potential he had to murder dance floors all over the
globe through his production. To date Matt has released a grip of
tracks on labels like Bump Shop, BBQ (Kansas City's tastiest House
label), 5280 Music, Tight Recordings and of course, Edible Grooves and
is showing no signs of slowing down. "Bleeps" is Matt's techiest
offering to date, showcasing his handiwork with extremely tight drum
programming, saw-tooth basslines, acid-inspired synths and enough
bounce to make Roger Troutman proud.
