"Ohio is very important," he said, "It's heartland. As Ohio goes, so goes the nation, according to popular lore. It's a bellwether state. If you can convince Ohioans, then it's an idea whose time has probably come." -Patrick Reynolds

My Interests

Living, breathing clean indoor air, doing cartwheels, smooching, singing, dancing, and smiling

I'd like to meet:

People who enjoy working and playing in Ohio without returning home with smoky hair, itchy eyes, smoke-clogged pores, second-hand smoke in their lungs, smoke-induced headaches, and clothes that smell awful. Anyone who helped make Ohio's public places SMOKE FREE in 2006!

Music:

In order to see a Smoke Free Ohio, we need to understand the issue!

This page is a forum to generate interest in a Smoke Free Ohio, and to share resources and smoke-free info. I hope you will show YOUR support of this very important issue!!

Television:

SmokeFreeOhio is NOT a Smoking Ban: Some Ohioans call our law a "smoking ban." This term is misleading because our law does not ban smoking.

This is also NOT an attempt at prohibition of smoking or discrimination against smokers. It just asks smokers in public places to step outside for a few minutes to smoke. It protects the rights of all Ohioans to breathe clean indoor air in public places.

Heroes:

As an old saying goes, "you have a right to swing your arms, but it ends where the next person's nose begins." If the punch comes from cigarette smoke instead, the reasoning is no different.

"The ultimate test of man's conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard." Gaylord Nelson former governor of Wisconsin, co-founder of Earth Day
