About Me

FROM THE CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA:
Called also simply THE COMMANDMENTS, COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, or THE DECALOGUE (Gr. deka, ten, and logos, a word), the Ten Words of Sayings, the latter name generally applied by the Greek Fathers.
The 10 Commandments are precepts bearing on the fundamental obligations of religion and mortality and embodying the revealed expression of the Creator's will in relation to man's whole duty to God and to his fellow-creatures. They are found twice recorded in the Pentateuch, in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, but
are given in an abridged form
in the catechisms.
Written by the finger of God on two tables of stone, this Divine code was received from the Almighty by Moses amid the thunders of Mount Sinai, and by him made the ground-work of the Mosaic Law. Christ resumed these Commandments in the double precept of charity -- love of God and of the neighbour; He proclaimed them as binding under the New Law in Matthew 19 and in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5). He also simplified or interpreted them, e.g. by declaring unnecessary oaths equally unlawful with false, by condemning hatred and calumny as well as murder, by enjoining even love of enemies, and by condemning indulgence of evil desires as fraught with the same malice as adultery (Matthew 5). The Church, on the other hand, after
changing the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day.

From the Holy Bible, the prohecy of
Daniel 7:23-25
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
DO YOU THINK THE ABOVE PASSAGES FROM DANIEL COULD BE IN REFERENCE TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?
FROM THIS - WRITTEN BY THE FINGER OF GOD
TO THIS - an ABRIDGED form in the catechisms!
The Catholic encyclopedia does tell the truth about the matter; and so does the word of God.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will
serve the LORD. Jos 24:15

My Interests

Please note; you can search from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find one biblical passage where the Almighty has ever changed a thing regarding the commandments as He gave them.

*****************

Jesus said, in
Mat 5:18&19 -

"For verily I say unto you,

Til heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

The Psalmist wrote, in Psalm 19:7-11 -

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward."

A sound warning;

What does the Catholic Church say about changing the Sabbath?

"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and its claims to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles ... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrents the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week [Saturday] to the first [Sunday]." -- Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900.

"If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath day [Saturday]. In keeping Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church." -- Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter dated February 10, 1920.
