In 1997 I was in court, I was being sued. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, but still I was being sued, personally. I had been raised in church, I thought that I knew God. Why would He let anything like this happen? I had really only been on my knees one other time, when my dad had been injured on a job and had been in a coma in the hospital. I turned the lawsuit over to God, it was His responsibility to take care of.
After the trial, and coming out on top. I went back to the life style that I had become accustom to. I do not know how my wife put up with me. I never really drank, but definitely caroused.. Strip clubs were the norm.
Shortly after this, I was talking with a friend, who was a Christian. He suggested I listen to the local Calvary radio station. I heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time. Maybe it was the way that it was presented. Maybe it was the call to make a stand, which I had never heard before, or at least never listened to before. It was definitely God’s timing.
It was in May of 1997 that I accepted the fact that Jesus died on the cross, for not just my sins, but every one's, everywhere. That he had risen from the dead, conquered death, and is now alive, in Heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father, God.
I stopped the life style that I had gotten into. Started going to a Bible study and have never looked back, except with shame.
My wife and I have a 19 year old daughter and a 7 year old daughter. Both are really good kids that I am so very proud of. They too have made a stand for righteousness and for Jesus, making Him their Savior and asking for the forgiveness of their sins. That which can only be granted by Him that knew no sin. Jesus.
