HERNAN SERRAO

Hernán Serrao began his career like mobile DJ (1993-1994), At finish of one year he became part of a company dedicated to organise events for not less than 700 people (1994-may 1995), at the same time that he worked of second DJ in the disco Cinema (ex- yoieslava). In the summer of 1995-1996 he played in Contramano (gay disco). This time Hernán Serrao had already a very good handling of the hint and of different types of publish based on the diversity of musical proposals that he had to work.
Already at the end of the summer of 95-96 he received an important proposal to become one of the 3 DJ residents from Buenos Aires News (from 1996-at present time). In the same one he began in the "El Reino” Playing in that period with local DJs such Hernan Cattaneo (i am house parties in Bs As News), and with international DJs such Scott Mac and DJ lottie among others. Finally (1997) they offered him to play at the main floor, place in which works until nowadays.
He was also the DJ resident of " Superclub ".
It was during the year 2000 that he also began play in the “Aqualounge – Club Pacha”.
It is worth to clarify that his current residence in "Buenos Aires News" and “Aqualounge – Club Pacha” didn't impede him or prevent him to fulfill with the invitations that he receive to play outside his country like he did it in many opportunity in Chile (Planet), Punta del Este (Uruguay), Mar del Plata (superclub) and Brazil (san pablo - maresia)
Recently (2002) he is part of a duet called CLAN-S and he is the current resident of Superclub nights. Also since the year 2001 he had his own radio show called groovenight which is emitted the whole Wednesday and Friday from 21hs to 24hs at eco radio 90.3 (www.cadenaeco.com.ar) and re-emitted in Peru. In this program also takes part of it Sebastián Castro the other half of CLAN-S.Hernan Serrao played among Austin Leeds (USA) at BIG ONE , and in the same club he played with his friend SLACKER (Shem Mcauly) , BIG HEAD and others.
In the next days a dj set by CLAN-S would be listen it in the hole world through Proton Radio (www.protonradio.com)
Nowadays he is working in studio in some project with Austin Leeds – BigHead and in other few works alone.
The year 2004 started full of work. Hernan had to divide his time between a Tour with RED BULL in january in the Argentina’s Atlantic coast, other few gigs booked in the year 2003 and other tour in Brasil in february. We don’t have to forget that in April Hernan will be in Europa to start a couple of gigs as CLAN-S.
The first one will be at THE GALLERY in London , a place that recive djs as SISTER BLISS – DAVE SEAMAN – FUTURESHOCKE – YOUSEF – FERRY CORSTEN – JAMES HOLDEN – NICK WARREN – JUDGE JULES to name a few. ( see www.turnmills.com)
To Finish with the year 2005 we have to say the presentation of Hernan as CLAN-S at SAMC ( Southamrica Music Conference)
As producer Hernan had been working with djs such as Austn leeds , Big Head , Pual davis (circualtion) – Rana kaler.
We didn’t talk to much about his music at the moment and what is more important that this. If we hav to identificate to Hernan with a word we have to use “evolution” because he was always in change and he is in change in permanent change like the music is, also the quality of his mix are really something to mention. He is One of Those artis that can make dance in the same night with different style of music transpoiting you from one to the other and making that you don’t feel it. He has a strong progressive y minimal tech influence that you can identify in his set in convination with a little of break and beep basses creating the best atmosphere to the moment that everybody want to jump and scream , showing to everybody a great capacity to drive the dance floor.
To add more Hernan Serrao is one of the dj or one of the only 2 djs that was on tour playing for GLOBAL UNDERGROUND.
Nowadays you can found to Hernan Serrao playing at Opera Bay (ex divino) (Buenos Aires Argentina) all Saturdays in his classic resident nights since 3 years.

In one ocassion a magazine asked to dj Hernan about what is a good dj, and Hernan answer:
“I going to tell you something that other dj said to me and now i used it as mine. A good djs is who at the end of a gig, when everybody leave the club, make that the people return at home thinking that they listened something diferent ,something that they never listen before, a good djs is who can make that who loves techono think that was the best techno night, who loves house think that was the bets hose night, and the same for progressive and thechy lovers.
The day that I can do this I will think that I am the best dj of the world”
