Biography
DarÃo Fernández, aka Darioef, was born in 1983 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Since he was a child, music has been a very important part of his life. He grew up listening to his father's extensive record collection, being DarÃo’s musical tastes greatly influenced by the sound of The Beatles for years.
However, it wasn’t until 1999 that DarÃo first met the electronic music thanks to a lifelong friend who introduced him to Oakenfold’s work and other trance artists, such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto, Yahel, Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor. As a result, the distinctive melodies and electronic sounds of the trance genre began to influence him and DarÃo developed a curiosity for trance that would lead him to go through new experiences.
A few months later, DarÃo learned to dj his first own tracks. At that time, he only had a PC and a Denon emulator, which shows the great effort he has put into his career as a DJ from the beginning. Some time later, he bought his first mixer and stated to create his first mixes.
The years 2000, 2001 and 2002 meant learning and changes in DarÃo’s life. He discovered new sounds that influenced his taste in music, providing him with a diversity of styles he was not aware of up to that moment.
Since 2003 DarÃo has become considered a an integral artist. Eager for more and while his career as DJ was improving, DarÃo created his first production, called “Alphaâ€. Shortly after this came “Betaâ€, the track with which DarÃo gained substantial recognition as a producer.
At that time, his productions were based on the typical sounds of progressive and house styles. However, DarÃo used to apply guitars, pianos and other instruments to his work which contributed to create melodies of a more emotional and unusual content.
In 2004, DarÃo made “New Life†and “Conservation†which were included by Hernán Cattaneo in several of his performances and in his radio shows in Argentina. In addition, DarÃo signed the tracks "Beta" and "New life" to EDM Digital as an independent artist. Both tracks had a positive impact on the audience, staying in the Top Ten Download Chart for several weeks. A few months later, Proton Radio invited him to play on its most popular show called 'Featured Artist'.
In 2005, DarÃo released “Near Uâ€, which was acclaimed by his fans. In addition, he made remixes for such important artists as Clubbervision and Cassino & Laben. These productions were made up of melodies that had a stronger tendency to trance than the previous tracks. This was an evidence of DarÃo’s future perspectives.
2006 seems to have been the year in which DarÃo has finally found the music genre he feels more comfortable with. After having played progressive house, and some other sub-genres, he has been back to trance.
In 2007, artists such as Andy Moor and Markus Schulz were an important influence that made DarÃo came back to the trance genre. Trance DJs and important producers such as Armin Van Buuren, Thrillsekers, and Above & beyond, among others, have influenced DarÃo allowing him to define his music style. As a result, in the last few years, Darioef has become a revelation in the South American EDM scene.
Since the last few years, Dario’s schedule has become tighter as the number of his productions, Internet radio shows and gigs increased. His music has extended through several Argentine provinces and also beyond Argentina’s borders to arrive to such countries as Colombia and Chile. Darioef shared booth with, for example, Kyau & Albert, The Thrillsekers, JES, Ozgur Can, to name some of them, showing an increasing international level.
The following years in DarÃoef’s career will be full of new projects, tours and productions since he seems to become one of the most important trance DJs in Argentina.
