Special fancy pants "i'm so smart, and have a cape to prove it" award winning Micro biology Techs in Wonder Woman underoos that are too small, but all the sexier because of it (that was oddly specific, hope I can find something like that) Dead but still Semi-Invincible poodles. Also karate.
People I already know. People I already know but forgot. People I don't know yet. People I haven't forgetten yet but soon will. People I will meet, then promptly forget. Also Elvis.
XM radio's Fungus 53, which is all punk, and ska, and such. Go Betty Go rocks my world. They Might be Giants is swell, also Metallica, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Blue Oyster Cult, Sinatra and co, George thouroughgood, Johnny Cash (I'm pretty diverse in my tastes)
Anything I've worked on is my current favorite (www.Monsterinmycloset.com for the details, I'm a whore and i know it) I love all movies from the snootiest bit of foriegn dreck, to the lowest budget piece of American crap, to the highest grossing box office corp-o-drama. Every movie has something worth seeing, and its fun to search out what that something is. I'm lucky in that I get to make movies for a living, luckier still in that I get to watch them a lot while doing so, luckiest, in that I have the support of everyone in my life to achieve goals I never dreamed possible.
Not much of a tv watcher anymore. The Simpsons, House, and heroes even though I hate serialized TV, but Sunday night is really the only night I get down with the glowing box anymore. Even Adult Swim doesn't have as much interest for me, the line-up of "too hip for the room" cartoons they currently have can't hold a candle to the classics like Aqua teen, sealab, spaceghost, etc. I'm also still a sucker for "Haunted" anything shows.
Anything by Chuck Pahlaniuk, Stephen King, JK Rowling, or Shel Silverstien. I'm always up for a good read (or listen too, as I tend to dive into a lot of audio books traveling about as I do) A few of my specific faves are: A Million Little Pieces, true or not, its a great tale, The Exorcist, The Dark Tower Saga, and The Hannibal Lecter series, minus the awful prequal.
Profesionally: Dick Smith, Rick Baker, all three founders of KNB, these diverse gentlemen accomplished wonders in the sfx and make-up fields, and made it possible for guys like myself to follow their path, and make a living in the same field. In regular life: All those unsung folks who do their seemingly trivial jobs day in and day out, but without whom, our society would simply crumble. from the 90 yr old woman who works the overnight shift at the A & P, to the middle aged guys who work jobs they hate to provide for their families, to those who follow their own dreams, those who work their way out of their own holes, etc. Heroes can be found anywhere if you look for them. Hmm, I got uncharacteristically poignant there. My apologies.
